Well a shotgun is pretty easy to get.
Really? I naded 4 zombified police to get to those wep caches in the PD.
Is stench remover really worth carrying around and where should I spray it?

Stench killer is only good for an hour so it's really only useful if you know you are being followed by a zombie master.  Once you know you are being hunted by one, get out of their line of sight, spray it, and run as far away as you can.

I'm not exactly sure if it's worth using tho, during the late game you can have several zombie masters following your scent at any time.

Well, seeing as survivors never pick it up in medical stores, I can always get some later anyways

It can be if you have to make a quick escape from a powerful zombie *COUGHDISCIPLECOUGHCOUGH* or if you need something good for trading.

Do army drops ever contain ammo or anything? I now seem to be the only guy left alive aside from a national guard squad and refugee waves, which generally get eaten.

Wouldn't stench killer be effective when returning to base? Every time I head home, I'm always chased by a half-dozen zombies. Might also be useful when, say, attempting to raid the hospital or other buildings later in the game (sure, the inhabitants might be zombified, but at least your only exit won't be packed full of another 15 zeds!).

And Cheese, no, not that I've ever seen. They contain roughly 4 parts food, 1 part medkits, from what I've seen.

If ammo is scarce, you can raid the 'bunny warren' (if you were told where it was, or can find it by luck) - there's enough ammo to last several weeks in there, though I usually exhaust the ammo caches long before I consume the rest of the supplies down there. Alternately, raid gun stores (there's frequently some ammo left in there, though you may have to ditch a favoured gun before you can actually use it), and/or break into CHAR offices (dangerous as heck if you aren't prepared and healed, but each guard carries a shotgun and frequently has a case of shotgun ammo on them). The police station is great in the early game, when the police aren't moaning and trying to eat you - get there quick for an easy shotgun and pistol, but it can also be useful late-game, when you've got a few ranks of Hauler (and a base to store all those 'maybe-useful-so-I'll-carry-them-around-till-I-need-them' items), since there's often some ammo left over.

Easiest way to raid Char offices... as you pass through business districts in mid-game, open one of their barricaded doors. Later in the game, when you come back, you may find that the zombies have taken care of them for you. Of course, you may have to deal with the new occupants...

Depending on the RNG, that also may lead to NPCS getting into the offices before you. Alternatively, Char guards tend to leave their posts to follow you. So simply lead them a stray and hopefully you should have your ammo. Also, crossbows work wonders on CHAR guards and any other still living enemy.

Plenty of distance, little reload times and decent damage with the right upgrades, but don't rely on them. Ammo for Crossbows becomes stupidly scarce by the second week.

I've seen exactly one (1) box of crossbow bolts and zero (0) actual crossbows. Did I just get really unlucky or something?

Either way, I think I'd rather rely on the near-limitless supply of Hunting Rifle ammo from the 'bunny warren'. Or heavy rifles from those late-game bunnies.

(Speaking of which, small question. Does anyone else feel like the Precision Rifle is a total waste? A mere 10 damage and two-round magazine. Sure, it's got range and accuracy... but a Heavy Rifle deals far more damage per bullet, which compensates for the occasional wasted bullet, and has almost the same range (and excessively-long range doesn't matter when any distance greater than 1 negates zombie bites!))

You know what would make this game better?

Molotovs. It would be more realistic for them to be in civ's basements instead of grenades.

I completely agree with the precision rifle, yes, your pretty much guaranteed to do damage with every bullet but it's just so impractical having to reload so often.  If I find one on the ground I usually pick it up, fire off the rounds it already has, and drop it.  It could really use either higher damage or increased clip size.

Didn't RJ say he was going to add molotovs?  Maybe he just confirmed grenades and C4.  Molotovs would be cool, fire could spread over an area and any creature on one of the tiles would take like 5 damage every turn.  They could burn down trees, wooden barricades and fortifications.  If it's used while raining outside it's extinguished much quicker.

I really hope the C4 is coming from my suggestion, because "Those Guys" Demolition would be awesome to watch.

And humans should refuse to run through the fire unless they are on fire.

Wait... you want humans to be smarter than dwarves? *gasp*!

Molotovs would be awesome... although remember, "The only thing worse than a horde of zombies is a horde of flaming zombies." Actually, never mind - that would make it more awesome. Carry on.  :D

Is there any virtually "infinite" source of ammo? Because late game I'm worried that the map will be wiped out of ammo and I have resort to kiting zombeh princes.

Also on a side note, do Black Ops carry heavy rifle ammo? if so I'll take an army rifle and kill black ops for their ammo.

I wish RJ would add headshot, dealing triple times the damage, and precision rifles would have an 85% chance of dealing headshots, that way its low ammo will be justified.
