I should have never sacrificed those awesome migrants...

I decided to do the good 'ol bridge over troubled magma migrant execution and the magma didn't effect them AT ALL!they drowned in it instead of burning to death, was this just a one off thing or a massive glitch?

that magma killed them. it is as intended.

magma usually kills by drowning or bleeding to death, whichever happens first.

However, when drowning in water, if the fall asleep, they cancel the drowning and become aquadorfs.

They didn't have any wounds on them, they just drowned.

I wonder if this isn't something to do with the speed at which things fall. Maybe as a dwarf drops into a z-level, magma is set up to cause injurys based on the amount of time they are submerged for. As they very quickly exit that z-level and drop into the one below, the timer on causing damage is reset, and so forth, resulting in there being little to no damage caused to the dorfs even when they actually spend a lot of time dropping into the magma. Just a thought.

no, its a per turn basis, and it takes a minimum of one turn to move at all.

Yeah, I had it too. Dropped kitten to vulcano for exploration. It falls... and falls... and fallls... eventually at -140ish it hit at end, survives and start to drowning. Reason of death: drown. Wounds screen shows only blinking Drowning message. Rest of body is white. All of it at bottom of magma sea.

Another day, another bug. I am begin to be really fustrated with it. There are still plethora of annoying bugs in .31.12 and what Toady do? Some new crap for adventure mode. Grrreat.

Srsly, did you read the dev updates? The stuff he's working on will have HUGE impacts on fortress mode too, and if adventure mode starts menacing with spikes of awesome too it's never going to be wasted!

So, cheer up and toast some innocent creatures!

Being free is NOT extempt to criticism. I do not mandate Toady to anything and I have no means to do it. This is just my opinion on topic "what Toady should do". Nothing less, nothing more. Just my fustration with bugs.

So, cheer up and toast some innocent creatures!
I tried to do. It drowned slowly on bottom of magma sea, not burned to death in 5 seconds at 2-z level down in vulcano pipe. :(

Man, everyone who actually plays adventure mode will be thrilled to have all of our new bugs as well. You guys get all the good ones, all we got was the "I'm meeeeeeeelting" bug.

I play Adventure mode to ensure that gobbos are going to suffer if they take down a fortress  8)
