6th Granite, 201

Apparently there was a mixup at the mountainhomes about our assigned duties - it isn't important, but I hope I'm up to defending the fortress with this axe...

The brook's drop provides us with a spot to wall the river off, so we can dry out the riverbed below. I hope to use that area as the main entrance in future, and drown the foolish goblins that choose to attack us.

In the meantime, I have organised an area for our farm to be dug out. Let us hope that my inexperience with irrigation beyond emptying murky pools does not prove to be our downfall.

It's not an embark so much as seven dwarves having a simultaneous strange mood and going off to build an artifact fortress that menaces with spikes of awesome and hanging rings of death.

The wall has been completed, and some farming area has been dug out. Eventually we'll seal the current entrance and dig to it from the "brookgate", but for now we will use this area for our farms. Irrigating it seems problematic - I dreamt last night of a great flood occuring because of one of my plans, and decided to discard that path.

(Fuck water physics. And yes, imma savescum in case of incidents like this. The brrok will drain out, though, so I got some good news out of my previous flooding.)

Why don't you simply drain a murky pool inside future farm area?  ???

I would, but they're very large. Plus I want to try some more advanced engineering for once.

Ok you need this
-Mechanisms
-Floodgate
-door?

You dig a tunnel to the brook and leave 1 tile closed
You install the Lever and floodgate and link them together and close off the farming area with 3 doors for a moment
You pull the lever and wait until every space in the farm is filled with water and then pull the lever again to close off the water
Note: if you enable water amount then wait until every space is 1/7 or 2/7
wait until the water drys off and make farms!

and dont try advanced it isnt worth it and your dwarves may come low on food. i tryed it multipipe times already

(I actually did exactly that. Huh.)

29th Granite, 101

Bootgreenness, stop annoying me.

16th Slate, 101

Why are you sitting on me, boot? Honestly, I won't take much more.

14th Felsite, 101

SCREW THIS PLACE. I HAVE BEEN SLEEPING OUTSIDE, WITH VERMIN EVERYWHERE, AND A METALSMITH SITTING ON ME.

*Ungy Bellschances, Axedwarf, has gone stark raving mad!*

Seriously. I had no friends, a grudge against Bootgreenness, and being accosted by vermin. Ah well, at least I made it to summer! :D

So...seeing as I'm insane, someone else can take on this trainwreck. Apparently brooks don't function how I expected, either. Plus the current depot doesn't seem accessible.

It's 31.12, but you need my whole DF folder, as I have made a bunch of little mods (and Ironhand added his llamas, but semantics).

But this is still a community game so we can tell the current player what to do?
