So a dragon on hte outskirts of my fortress area.
It was time to pack up shop, the fortress has a large above ground area, where serveral major industries (bonecrafting, butchering, leatherworking, soap making, masonry, carpentry...), all militiary (including there accomodation), 20+% oc civilian accomodation and multiple recrrational areas.
It was a sealed mountain, only one way up, unless you can fly. and that way was blockable by lowerign a drawbridge to cover all ramps (i didn't bother to drop it).
So, I set my civs and squads to seige mode, now one leaving the mountain. and began the final rites.
Artifacts placed, large engravings, dining rooms full of platinum thrones...
I saw it coming up the mountain, for some reason it was going the long way round, to enter via my normal path, (the walkable path)
My archers valiently fired a couple of volleys,
and then suddenly it was gone.
Instead of flying up, it walking up, into may cage traps.
So now i have a caged dragon, with "a dented underside"
How would I go about breeding it, if i get a second one of right gender.
Wait, dragons are megabeast, and thus don't breed.
Damn.
For purposed of this discussion, lets assume they can. Via normal sporing process.
So what would we need?
A deep pit, drop the dragon in, then quickly have a dwarf jam a grate on top of it?
Or maybe i could install the dragon, once tamed by a dungeon master, on to a rope, in a alternate entrace, opened only when we are undersiege.
It would still spore.
