Absurd Quantities of Adamantine
« on: August 20, 2010, 08:05:44 pm »

I made my usual desert fortress, with the usual - albeit never completed - goal of building a clear glass pyramid.  Dug down to build my usual magma pump stack, hey, adamantine...

I'm still following the one vein up, thirty Z levels and 1,000 adamantine rocks later.  My previous experiences with adamantine have involved less than fifty rocks safely retrievable, so I'm just stunned; is this anywhere near normal?

Heck, forget the glass, I could just make an adamantine pyramid

I usually get about 100-150 from one vein.

Only thirty levels?  That's nothing.

Of course, you have to weigh that against the fact that mine is safely underground, and my Dwarves don't get so awe-inspired at the sight they just stand around until they die.

The awe runs out after the first migrant wave.
