> Ask the human if she has any idea what the presence is before continuing. If demonic, run for the hills. If angelic....be careful, but proceed. If she doesn't know, same as angelic. Demons generally wouldn't set up defences like this.

Demons would be incinerated by the sheer holy of the sheet of paper. That shit is damn strong. Thank god (or whatever we follow now that we are neutral) for our neutrality.

  "Who's in there?"

She turned to look, obviously guiding the vehicle by muscle memory alone. "Where have you been? In there's our greatest weapon. And you get to meet him."

I was starting to feel a little skittish, wringing my hands openly. The power wasn't painful, per se, but it was making me feel like running really fast, somewhere. It filled me with a sort of energy that made me jittery and uncomfortable. "Are you feeling this?"

  "A little." She replied vaguely.

"I-I'm supposed to talk to this... Him?"

"Hey, it's not like you're talking to God here. A little chat with Seraph and everythi- HEY!"

I made a dash for it, leaping out of the vehicle. It wasn't my smartest plan but I wasn't about to sit still any longer and I sure as Hell wasn't about to get anywhere near a Seraph. Especially if it was THIS Seraph. I ducked under a flying star and dodged a sword. Someone fired a rifle at me, and a bullet almost caught me on the leg. It hurt, but it wasn't crippling so I didn't slow down. Jumping high I leapt up the wall, latching onto the barbed wire without fault.

Unfortunately that was as far as I got. A familiar face smiled down at me, like a lion looking at a mouse caught in it's den.

"Well well well. Azel. Didn't think you'd survived to be honest. I have to admit, you're stronger than you look. Then again, a devils strong suit is deception." He reached out a hand towards me. "Why don't you just take my hand and we can forget this all ever happened. I'll make sure you're never bothered by Angels or Demons ever again."

Angels, and for that matter, Seraphs, never lie. It's against their code, to the point it's completely unthinkable to most of them. But Seraph was a master of mincing words, telling half-truths, and he had taught his whole unit how to do the same. Angels didn't lie, but they could sure as hell trick you if they wanted to.

  Was he tricking me?

He wants to kill you, that much is plain. Don't take his hand, but don't run either. Just go back down to the ground slowly, saying that we have changed, as is evident by our wings. We don't expect anyone to take us seriously, but that's what it is.

I dropped back down the the ground. I didn't know what I was planning on doing, but it seemed like a good idea at the time. I held up my hands, but before I could say anything, alarms blazed across the base. Seraph looked distracted, peering into the distance. It looked to me like he was using his Angelic Visions, but I couldn't be sure. Maybe he just needed glasses.

"Hundred Ravens, East side!" Came a cry from the east.

"Hundred Ravens, west side!" Cam a similar cry.

  "Hundred Ravens, South side!"

There was a brief pause. Everyone looked at the north, unsure.

"...Thirteen Devils, North side. They're engraved." The message was chilling. Only the most powerful demons had their wings engraved. The same went for angels, but Demons were combat specialists, not politicians.

The question was, which side should I take?

////|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||\\\\

RowaN

The Demon dropped from the wall where he had been clinging like a insect to a pane of glass. He lifted his arms, probably to save his own ass, but then Michael called out from East Tower; "Hundred Ravens! East Side!"

More cries arose, until finally it was just Jim on the north watch. I saw him look shakily out to the north, over the gate to Headquarters. He called out a grim announcement.

Thirteen Devils! Thirteen for demons was a magical number, and only the most powerful gathered into groups that size. I was reminded of that when Jim shouted that they were engraved. Thirteen elite Devils on the north side against a couple hundred shocked humans.

A fair fight then. The matter was simply where I could be of the most help.

Defend the North Side with the humans. We may not be all that powerful, but we sure are more powerful than human defenders. Besides, in the unlikely event that we don't die horribly this could do wonders for our reputation.

And spend that point on Brawn. We'll be needing it.

Yeah, might as well upgrade brawn now. Also, side with the humans. That's why we are neutral after all, we are the protector of earth and all of it's inhabitants.

Need an action for Rowan, too. She's a playable character now, although the fourth wall is going to follow Azel and so she'll be out of commission when and if we leave her alone.

Also we sided with the humans when we chose GreY as our Path choice, instead of WhitE, which would have put us on the same track as Seraph and Gabriel and them. It's just a matter of joining S.H.I.E.L.D or acting independently.

E: So if no-one decides otherwise I guess I'll put Rowan on North with Azel and Seraph. The other S.H.I.E.L.D guys can handle 300 Ravens, I guess. Maybe not. It would be a shame not to get to describe any of them...

RowaN:
Sombody needs to deal with the less glorious fight. Get to the East side and try to inflict casualties. If we can finish it off quickly then we can support the others.
There are alot of them so try to spread the damage around, maybe shooting a bottle of holy water whilst it is in midair could do the trick. Obviously don't hold back the grenades and other shrapnel weapons...

Assuming Rowan is the same person who tried to kill us earlier, she's the one with a holy sword.

Azel should be independent as far as what he does, but have a partnership with S.H.I.E.L.D. so we don't get our neck chopped off. But yeah, Brawn is an okay choice I guess, and the north side is as good a place as any.
As for RowaN, sure, the least supported side.

Azel needs to avoid the north side, since that will easily be the most dangerous. Go south, since that's the furthest away.

Rowan can go help out the North side, since they'll need it.

North for me. I wasn't sure if these humans could handle Engraved, nonetheless some of the Thirteen groups of thirteen. Lucifer wasn't hedging any bets with this one.

If I wasn't recently accosted by him, I may have felt good fighting beside a Seraph again. As it was I avoided eye contact and decided to do the best I could...

I smiled a bit. This would be fun.

////|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||\\\\

I caught the blade by the side with my own, slipping it down and around. I spun, using my smaller wings to my advantage, getting within his range, where he couldn't get a good shot at me. I brought the sword up low, but he dodged and tried to stab me. I twisted away from his blade and lashed out to the left, ripping a hole in the demons torso and spilling guts. Not really a mortal wound to a Devil or Demon, but it was painful as all hell and the added distraction let me get a strike in at his head.

  Two down.

I flipped around and blocked an incoming demonic blade. I pressed back, brining myself on the offensive, distracting him so Seraph could slip his holy sword between devilish ribs. I caught his sword and did another half-turn, squiaring me to assault a approaching Thirteen. He held a Whip of Blades, a set of spinning gears, sharpened and perpetually slicing. It took skill to weild, but made up for it by being deadly, cool-looking, and above all painful.

I lopped off the end before he could tangle my sword. He anticipated and drew a wicked sythe, lashing out with a snarl. I blocked and drew the curved blade low, far lower than it should have been in battle. He snapped it back up before I was ready though and brought the syth down onto my side, goring me deep. I wasn't about to let that pain stop me, but before I could blink Seraph had taken advantage of the situation and taken the devils head. I dropped to the ground on the sythe. As one can imagine, it wasn't a experience I'd enjoy repeating.

I wiped the bile from my lips and got back to the battle. I deflected a axe, catching and holding the weapon above my head, while I leaned in and grabbed the Devils face. I tried to draw out his soul and use it to fuel me (God knows he wasn't using it much) but even as a look of horror was coming over his face Seraph stole the kill and flew off to another side of the battle.

This left me with one devil left. The top dog. I turned to face him where he waited patiently. For all their faults, devils are damn dramatic when they want to be.

RowaN

They swarmed beneath me, a writhing horde of naked bodies. They were pale and lithe, like swimmers, but half rotted faces broke any human facade they had. They had eyes like dinnerplates, dull and empty, a unhealthy yellow more akin to a drug user than the hordes of hell. They usually would have boasted red eyes, or the normal white. But Ravens were damned souls given a fake shot a freedom, turned into mindless, blithering slaves.

Killing the beasts wasn't much of a problem individually. But they came in swarms of up to a hundred, and sometimes more. Each one multiplied the danger exponentially, until by the time a pack was assembled, skilled fighters could be brought down.

I am no skilled fighter. No. I am S.H.I.E.L.D. I am far, far more dangerous.

I leapt down into the horde, drawing my blades as I went. Curved things they were, and laced through with lines of holy steel, which lacerated unholy flesh. The steel would pass through, but the holy metal wouldn't, meaning a hundred little cuts through their thin bodies.

I killed about twenty through various means before I saw the blight pillar. It touched down in the midst of the swarm, killing several of my men and dozens of the damned Ravens. I called a retreat back onto the walls, hoping that Seraph was done with the Engraved. We weren't going to need any distractions for what was about to come.

Azel> Try to make this impending duel take as much as possible until Seraph comes back.

Rowan> Get the hell back to walls and try to find some cover.
