...Hey though, here's a thought. Can't you add some of the characters and gods to the symbols for the next world. This way they would appear as engravings.
Yes, actually. Very similar to the
Cacame Descriptor Shape, and very easily done, if you just check out the current descriptor_shape.txt and make a copy (renamed both per the file name and the title at the head of the document) including shapes you want. For example; I made a descriptor group that made 'poetry,' 'legends,' 'myths' and other such writings that appear as engravings and national symbols from time to time. Even though you can't read them.
Dwarven poetry would likely make even the most hardened overseer's head explode in terror, let alone a novice...
It's too bad that deities aren't in the raws yet. I remember reading somewhere (one of the QA session of FotF) that eventually deities will be able to be put in raws, kind of like how you can add custom Night Creatures in addition to the random ones.
It would be cool, if we could bring the deities from this world to the next...
Lur, Led and Ura as megabeasts?
And also possible and not overtly complicated, should the Failcannon audience and participants vouch for it (there ought be a pole for each raw change we may wish to include.)
You would have no way of enforcing a population restriction of 1 each, though. They'd be populated per the formula for every other beast.
We could make fanciful beasts with pref-strings though, to appear in engravings similar to a descriptor shape.
And I would agree that we don't want any youtube viewers to spontaneously combust in their seats. The world may not know who to sue in such a situation... DF could be put down overnight and we may end up in jail on the whims of nobles and peasants alike!
