I vote "Battle-Fail-Cannon 1.5"

And I could get behind the dwarf-castes idea I guess...  Maybe each player adds a new one at the end of their turn, not announcing what it is exactly (nothing too complicated so we know it doesnt, y'know, totally break the game) and we excuse the bizarre migrants trickling in as the poor hapless results of Demon Queen Leds horrific sorcerous experiments?

If we get enough people to agree with this, I may start this this very turn

I have some crazy stuff (read: FUN) lined up for the next fort in the series. I vote we abstain from doing this until Battlefailed III.

Also, dibs on starting Battlefailed III.

I'm also leaving a trap for whomever comes next.

Every successor has done that. It's called Failcannon.

Well, yes, but this one may end up destroying the fort.

My statement is still valid.

Also, dibs on starting Battlefailed III.

Yet? We need to trash this one first. For he multiverse to crumble, and all that jazz.
If we can't kill the dwarves by normal means, we trash the FCN tower, that is being used as a some sort of psychic shield, and then let all modding hell break loose.
You heard it, Deathsword?

Demented minds think alike xD

This is why Bay12-ers get along.

You misquoted in your post. I said that, not CP.

... dwarf ... megabeast.

You're a freaking genius! I'll make the sentient races into mega or semi-megabeasts as legendary/champion fighters with weapons. If only you could force them to have armor as well... well, aside from modding in a metal covering to various body parts and naming it like armor, but then people would complain that they don't drop any usable armor... Oh well. Fear your fellow adventurers!

Edit Aaand.... now I will have nightmares about this.  Thanks Eric.

... keeping it just barely alive, like a young woman in my sexy torture dungeon.

You're welcome :P

Genius. You both. Now I WANT to see that in action.

As soon as we find out if it's possible to mod castes into a running game we'll have to decide wheter to do it or not. If yes, off to work we go.

I posted a thread in modding about that. We'll see what happens.

I have Eric's re-genned Aluorna up. If I had any idea how to mess with castes, I'd try it.

EDIT: My friend just had an awesome idea. Two words:

Hostile cats.

UltraValican's test provides data on that... too bad it crashes. I was more expecting it to simply not work.

Now, if we made 50 identical castes pre-generation and THEN modified one/turn during the game... Might be worth testing.

Also, can do on the adventurers-as-megabeasts. Should they have "armor" bodyparts anyway?
If they wouldn't replace other wildlife in their biomes, I'd make 'wild' ones that ambush you like any predatory beast. You're already getting attacked by plenty of military patrols anyway, most likely. It would be wonderful if there were a tag that implies that a certain creature isn't a member of a biome as a species and thus doesn't replace other natural species there, but can randomly be encountered in the biomes in it's definition anyway, as part of an overarching wandering population that also is not a mega/semi-megabeast or civilization member.
I once encountered a biome that was nothing but dragonkin from my mod; woody wyverns and dragonmen as herd animals, and lesser dragons and yeric wyverns as predators. I certainly never intended for that to happen, and wish that previously described tag existed and would permit them to exist in the way I desire.

Err, in the process of writing up the first adventurer definition, I realized they need their own speech file like that of minotaurs, so here's what I have so far:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
A new-line break signifies the end of each one. Any others I should add/remove to make them both intimidating and humorous personalities?

This was my initial meaning, actually.

Make references to Andreus the Undying.

Also make reference to seeing the horrors of Boatmurdered and living to tell about it. (also: I have slain the mighty Elephant/carp/badger?)

I'm pretty sure that megabeast dorfs wouldn't actually be hostile.
Unfortunately. They ARE a part of your civ after all.

Then again I might be wrong. I haven't ever actually tried it out, you see.

All this aside, what's going on in Failcannon at the moment?  Any word from Deathsword?
