While I wouldn't mind being compared to HD, who was pretty much the most hardass being in her respective worldgen, it's not really comparable since crossbows are meant to be usable as hammers while backpacks... aren't...

The only thing that happened in general was the death of 71% of the fort, and that wasn't really worth mentioning.

I WILL RETURN!

meanwhile make me a slab and place it in the STFO

Kay. If it causes another poor soul to be sucked into the STFO, there will be much rejoicing (and irony).

Oh man, if i hadn't seen the you fling Deathsword (and he wasn't somewhat mobile) I was actually gonna suggest loading his bed on the bridge and flinging him to it. Demented minds think alike, evidently.

Also, if you can rig up some waterwheels over the outflow of the pumps, you should be able to get it self-powered so you don't have to worry about an accidental cutoff.  I'd put a lever controlling the wheel's output under the hatch, just in case you need to bid goodbye to the world if you do.

She was mobile. She was crawling around... I don't know exactly how, but I have two ideas: she was using her teeth, or she was undulating like a snake.

Nah, I'll leave orders to the next overseer to gather more wood and build more wheels in my power plant near the shore.

Hmm... Only one more year before I have coalesced enough energy (mostly of anguish and fear) to begin interacting with the fortress and it's occupants more directly, perhaps getting this idiot mason to run for office... I expect though that she'll be killed while I'm not paying attention... Probably in bed. By a face-eating undead mussel.

Catalyst is our mayor for the rest of the life of the fortress, of her life. The fact that as I broke my mind explaining why she can't be deposed because she's an enemy of our civ, but she fills the "one mayor cap" simply causes so much hilarity to be stopped. Also, brotip: as she isn't from our civilization, neither she can't bring any dwarf of ours to dwarven "justice". Or yes, now that I'm viewing the justice page. But she seems to only punish me... oh, oh gods SHE KNOWS

Oh, forgot to ask - what's Aussie Dwarf up to?  Still hiding from danger?

Yes, as always, Aussie disappears not only when there is some danger, but if the job is perilous, you nearly always seem to be "On break"

Okay, they are meant to be used as a hammer. But you broke every articulation of its body and then impaled it with a crossbow. I think you qualify to be the most hardass being in Failcannon right now, with Mormota and Gizogin.

What is my dwarf doing?

Nothing, actually. Since the only thing I need to complete are the windows of the FCN Tower (I said FNC before, my bad, lack of sleep and too much New Vegas make up for weird mistakes), we are very short of job. Maybe I'll expand the power plant, but we're short of wood. I'll make the connections and leave to the next overseers actully putting some wheels in there.

I think that sentence describes all of Failcannon.

For some reason I'm picturing my dwarf adding a "heh, sucker" under his breath.

Fuck yeah, the Project is working!

What exactly were you trying to accomplish by dumping dwarves there?

That's the benefit of having abysmal empathy. No mercy.

Especially since you have to actually work to keep the sinkhole extant.

Nope. It works on its own now.

OOPS

Okay, I'm finished. I'll be sorry for the double post, but Wall of text incoming!

At first I read your post "We're down to two." I wasn't even surprised.

Could you please finish the Project? The last burrow in the list is the plan for the construction. If you wish to continue construction and don't understand the plan, I'll sketch something up in Paint.
