No. Ignore anyone who would tell you otherwise.

(or look at ingame notes and find out)

So we got monsters above, monsters below, dwarves in the middle and a party in the dining hall. Sounds good to me.
If all else fails, remember one thing:  kittens are delicious, nutritious little goblin-baiters, cavern explorers, and ambush-finders.

Only if you want to finish it. Don't sweat it too much, just enjoy the game. I know I will enjoy things finally moving forward.

Downloaded the save to take a look at the place. I got one thing to say.

That is a lot of notes.

We won't get nearly enough wood for the water wheels and axles even if we made the elves carry an entire universe on a warthog's back or something. Just how MUCH power did you calculate for the entire pump stack, Takuanuva...?

make perpetual motion machines instead they generate a lot more power.

After LordSlowpoke's post I downloaded the save to see for mysHOLY SHIT HOW MANY NOTES IS THAT???!!!

Seriously, it looks like you spent more time putting them than actually playing the game  :P

Also,

According to unit list, there are 241 goblin prisoners in all out there (and one uncaged crossbowgoblin).

TWO FUCKING HUNDRED FUCKING FORTY FUCKING ONE.

Really, this is getting ridiculous. Maybe it's time to build the ARENA?

And have prisoners escape and kill everyone in the fortress.

Around 90 levels * around 25 power per level ( + 200, because some levels have more gears) = around 2500 power for the pump itself, not including reactor's mechanisms.
Let's say, that mechanisms inside the reactor will take 500 power (lots of gears). This gives us 3000 power, which divided by 170 gives us 18 dwarven water reactors required to run the reactor and the pump.
I think.
Additional power could be usefull, because the Failpump as it is only pumps magma to the ground level.

You know, normaly I would think that the idea of just flinging prisoners trough the air with bridges is kinda boring, but with 241 goblins, I would love to see something like that.

What I mean to say is, my idea on how to deal with the goblins is to make a bridge or multiple bridges at the highest point of the map and find a way to catapult all the goblins at once from up there, creating a literal rain of goblins.

Just imagine seeing 241 goblins raining from the sky and falling to the ground. It would be fun to watch (If it gets recorded), and if the fall is high enough we would get a ton of bones out of it.

I've just got a totally awesome idea.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
We dump several goblins onto the ledge from above, then proceed catapulting other goblins into them.
However, I doubt this will injure the standing goblins. Can anybody verify?

Awesome idea! Sadly I don't know and I very much doubt that this hurts them. I vote for the goblin rain! AERIAL GLORY TO ALL GOBLINS!

With only the slight problem that falling objects don't kill stuff.
