Slowpoke, how good is your machine?

EDIT: Also, is it OK if I wait for .25, since it's just around the corner with a few crashfixes?

2.6 Ghz on a dual core CPU w/ 2GB RAM. Nothing unusual.

You may also want to be informed that in a fit of retardation I've tossed in [SPEED:0] to the dwarf file just before uploading. How come nobody noticed it while I was asleep, I thought someone would download it for once.

Holy shit, I've got 9-10 FPS on 3.4 Ghz quad-core on my turn  :o There's apparently been quite a lot of FPS-improving work...

I was getting between 17 and 24 FPS myself.

Sure. EDIT: Not that it really matters now.

Got the game downloaded. I'll try to download the file in a bit. What's my timeframe?

I think it's basically become "take as long as you want so long as you finish."

Newcomer here, I've read most of the great sagas so far and I'd love to be a part of one. Could I be dorfed as "Strategia", preferably in some position that will lead to a horrible, painful death (such as militia, hunter, miner - hell, from what I've read, anyone in this place stands a reasonable chance of being gored by some random creature or pincushioned by goblins or whatever)? Alternatively, if the cheesesmithy is still in operational state, and cheesesmithing is remotely within the realm of possibility, could I be assigned to maintain Failcannon's strategic cheese reserves? After all, there's no better way to fortify the troops than some of my patented Golden Edam (so named because they have roughly the same consistency, you can mint coins from the stuff).

I'd also love to run a clusterfuck like this someday, but since my most complicated engineering project to date has been digging a farm cavern next to a murky pool, breaching it and then flooring over the pool, I don't think I have the proper qualifications. nearly enough experience leading flooding forts to glory with magma.

As a side note, how are you with in-character posts from non-overseers?

Added you to the dorf list.

Hi, LLLFTP here (long time lurker first time poster, FYI), and I've enjoyed reading both battlefailed and failcannon so much, I've decided to get in on the action with a dorf request.  name Tryrar the Bloody, any military as profession(axedwarf preferred), and see if you can get one that's always picking fights.

This fort really does sit on the event horizon of madness and catastrophe
No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

That'd be LTLFTP.

So we got monsters above, monsters below, dwarves in the middle and a party in the dining hall. Sounds good to me.
If all else fails, remember one thing:  kittens are delicious, nutritious little goblin-baiters, cavern explorers, and ambush-finders.
