I'm going to have to pass - I'm headed out of state for Thanksgiving and won't have any time to play.

13 DEATHS?
Could you post the z screen, please? How many dwarves do we have now?

So we got monsters above, monsters below, dwarves in the middle and a party in the dining hall. Sounds good to me.
If all else fails, remember one thing:  kittens are delicious, nutritious little goblin-baiters, cavern explorers, and ambush-finders.

Ahem.

I'm gonna take the liberty of bumping this and PMing Nat to download the save, since it seems that without such stuff this thread'll die. No offense, Urist

Posting to follow, and to make yet another dwarfage request. Name Grov. I've not seen any use of the bone block reaction, so I'd like to be an alchemist, if possible.

The raccoon's still there, though.  Just chilling out.  Being a raccoon in some rocks.

Eek, I'm up now then? Ok, grabbing the save, though I doubt I'll try to do much tonight as I am super drunk.

I am not sure what I am going to do, but I am aiming at finishing my turn in 3-7 days, depending on how much of a chaotic mess the place is.

Sorry for the delay - <GenericLameExcuse>

Lame excuse? 'Having a drink instead' is the dwarfiest reason to not get something done, short of accidentally flooding your home with magma. Or intentionally flooding your home with magma.

Barring any major problems popping up I should be done in a few hours. Not doing much that's interesting, just trying to clean up a bit and not get too many dwarves killed, since we only had 12 good ones at the start of my turn.

In true failcannon style, a magma-related device I constructed failed hilariously. I was trying to make a simple thing to drop junk into magma to destroy it, but instead the pile of rocks I was testing it with were thrown all around the room. I think the fact that the dwarf who pulled the lever tends to run over the hole on the way out was pretty poor planning on my part too. Luckily though, I haven't actually managed to kill anyone with this yet.

I'll update with the full story and name dwarves at the end of my turn. There are a bunch spare at the moment but hey, this is Dwarf Fortress. I've already lost 2 dwarves due to completely ignoring everything that's already happened in this place.

I am now hard at work writing up the story of what happened. Expect it to take 2 days years longer than I say it will!

We have flux (dolomite IIRC). It's under the aquifer.

Oh, I see. I guess the last person to make steel must have used up all the stuff that was already mined, because I couldn't make pig iron and just assumed we had none.

Also, I just realised I forgot to name the dwarves, there's 18 or so free so the next player should be able to clear out some of that to-be-dorfed list.

STOP DIEING!!
Why? It all in good !!FUN!!, amiright?

Besides these kinds of forts are only successful when their not successful.  It is the Battlefailed way: Go down burning or die trying!

Requesting dorfing, my forum name, please.  I hope for an interesting death at least.  I prefer to be remembered for dying interestingly as opposed to living in obscurity.  :P
