Ah, thanks for the correction.

The thought occurs that we might end up with multiple Andreus ghosts if we aren't careful.

Echoes of Andreus's personalities, set adrift by his multiple reincarnations.
Or something like that.

The souls forced out of their bodies when Andreus claimed them?

Guys, I finally got back into Dwarf Fortress, and this thread was my first port of call, and so... it's kind of heartwarming to see that y'all still remember me and are taking what was originally just a gimmick plot device for explaining the fact that there was always a dorf named Andreus running around in Battlefailed and turning it into essentially a core element of this succession's story. I'm really touched :)

Soapalope is on my dorfing list, which will be posted in its entirety at the end of my turn.  Now back to your regularly schedualed story.

8th Moonstone, 525
That roof over the barracks was finally completed today.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Now our illustrious militia can spar dry.  Wonderful for them.

27th Moonstone, 525
I don’t think anyone was surprised when this happened.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Amazingly, not a one of us native dwarves died.  However, three traders died, one to our weapon traps.  At least they can kill something.  Two pack animals were slaughtered, and five caravan guards fought bravely and died hard.  Only one guard, one trader, and two pack animals left.  On the positive side, they drove off all the goblins including a squad that popped up in the middle of the fracas.  Thus ends the practice of letting traders in.

2nd Obsidian, 525
Things have been uneventful, thank Avuz.  Built a cage and assigned all the strays to it.  Somehow the boys got it in their heads to release a bat from the cage, and a constant stream of them were running up to me and complaining that they couldn’t get the bat out of the cage because they didn’t have a little animal trap.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I tried to stop the release, but they said I got the wrong bat.  They won’t stop complaining.

7th Obsidian, 525
Oh great, another ghost.  This one breaks things.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
His body was dumped into the ocean.  The others adamantly refuse to acknowledge that he ever existed.  Oh well, at least he stays in the hospital.

21st Obsidian, 525
So I guess we just became a county.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
The only problem is, we don’t have a count.  Oh well.

1st Granite, 525 526
Gotta get used to the new date.
The first day of the new year has come.  Intriguingly enough, a dog died on the exact toll of midnight.  It serves as a reminder that, even as spring brings new life, it brings death.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I feel… tired.  I think I understand why spring is the traditional season the position of overseer is passed to a new candidate.  However, I haven’t had my traditional year, and this is anything but a traditional fort.  So screw tradition.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

And that’s winter.  It’s really too bad that that caravan died, because if it had survived, I would have a count.  I think.  I turned off temperature and caged some animals and got a total FPS boost of 6.  Still, anything helps.  No new dorfings, so the list stands as it is.  I continue to try and organize things, but everything I do is pointless in the face of such disorder.  So.  Should I go a year and hand it off in autumn, or should I go until winter to get it a little closer to spring?
FAKEEDIT: Please excuse my lateness in uploading.  15 FPS.

GLACIAL. STOP BREAKING SHIT.

Go until whenever you want (as long as it's no later than next spring).

So we got monsters above, monsters below, dwarves in the middle and a party in the dining hall. Sounds good to me.
If all else fails, remember one thing:  kittens are delicious, nutritious little goblin-baiters, cavern explorers, and ambush-finders.

Did you really expect it to stay fixed for long? This is, after all, Failcannon.

Again, sorry about the lack of updates.  I was out of town all weekend and lost my flashdrive.
Two seasons worth of progress on the writeup and game itself was lost.
Luckily, I had an old backup from year start, two seasons in.  I am beginning from then.

My first post here. After reading this and Battlefailed and seeing that this is still going on, I finally decided after a long time of lurking to create an account here. This fort and the other one are pretty amazing and I hope that I can at least be a small part of this, so I wish to be dorfedas well. Gender isn't important, a mason would be nice to be but if anything else is needed at the time I can be that as well. Just call the dwarf Greader. I hope that my dwarf will at least die an interesting death here.
