 :o  I dunno what to say, overwhelmed..  Thank you all, everyone on this forum is awesome and it's a privilege to write here.  I'm glad the turn was enjoyable, I had fun.  I'll be more communicative about the fort's status next time.

i'm downloading the fort now, let's see how far i can get today

There needs to be animations of all the epic forts, in our time as well as in the past. Boatmurdered, Headshoots, Syrupleaf, Nist Ahnk, Battlefailed and Artendikes.

If done right it would be legend.

Seth, you are an amazing story teller, using the medium of Dwarf Fortress to the max. I wouldn't even be posting here if it weren't for your skill. You don't need to apologize, as you did nothing wrong; quite the opposite! That turn was sheer awesome and insanely fun to read. I guess I just want to say... thanks for playing and giving us such great entertainment!

EDIT: I am kinda sad that now Derm's kickarsery is non-ish cannon. Just have to find some other Cthulhus to punch out, Derm ;3.

Oh fuck, I just reread the ending of Battlefailed while listening to this, and now I have to ask if anyone else thinks that it needs to be animated?
I could think of better music to accompany the epicness.

Anyway, it is a very good idea. I don't think it would be suitably atmospheric if done in Flash or some other sort of colorful computer animation tool. Pencil-drawn stop-motion would be ideal, in my opinion. Another option is a slideshow of faux engravings (that one would heavily depend on the music to set the mood)... or real engravings if someone was in the mood to spend months or possibly years working on that. In any case, there would have to at least one skilled artist in the creative team.

Megaproject for the fort: sculpt the history of the Battlefailed and FailCannon. You could dig out a different frame of animation on each z-level.
