IIRC, the only horses in the game with the Horse trait are Glitterhoof and Horse M.D.; all other horses, including spawned horse culture courtiers and Incitatus, lack the trait.

Also, immortal horse characters have unique portrait overlays as of Jade Dragon. It's beautiful.

IIRC it's very difficult to convert to paganism (though having a pagan educate your heir should work).  However I think I was able to switch back to Catharism via my wife, after going Orthodox to mend the schism.  Not sure, it was a while ago.

"But why would a Cathar mend the schism as Orthodox"?  I think you mean "Why would an West African pagan become Cathar?"  Because only Christians can reform the Empire.  When I couldn't go back to West African, I decided I might as well make Catholicism a heresy.

That was an exceptionally funky game.  The only hard part was forming the trade republic of Mali, heh.

Is there any good way to change burgher vassal culture? My plans to turn all of Great Britain into a giant republic are being slightly inconvenienced by people speaking with the wrong accents, and they don't have any child heirs to educate.

In unrelated news, this is a weird game. The Aztec Empire has completely disintegrated into good proper traditional Catholic kingdoms ruled by Nahua nobility, and people keep giving the Teutonic Order random chunks of land.
