So, I'm not quite finished with my conquests yet, but I'd like to share:

My biggest fear right now is Temujin, as he still hasn't shown up (Delayed Random Mongols, IIRC) and it's freaking me out. Does Genghis Khan's son inherit his event troops?

Yeah, he inherits them.

Mongols aren't too scary though nowadays. Horse archers got super nerfed awhile back. They're pretty derpy now. And you're pretty far from where they'll spawn anyway. And even if you had to fight them, given your empire size I really doubt you'd have troubles.

I know that if I were in his situation, I'd conquer Persia and use that as a point from which to mount my attack, and try and assault down a ton of holdings before the Abbadids can assemble a big enough army to counterstrike, seeking the army of the closest vassal sultan (which would probably be small enough for a doomstack to handle) before it can meet up with the others for the requisite "major battle".

But now that I think about it there's no way the AI could be that good.

Yeah, but you get the Mirza trait instead of Sayyid. I'm pretty sure Mirza cannot be inherited, so it's only good for a single generation. The effect is the same for both though, +5 to muslim opinion.

Sadly that is impossible. Sayyid only spreads patrilineally.

Full status of women allows for matri-marriages though (the only way you can get muslim ones, I think), which lets you boost your dynasty numbers (though they will be Mirza).

So then the male would spread his Sayyid trait to his children just like he would in a patrilinear marriage.

The trick is to use the Status of Women stuff to have a daughter inherit who is matri-married to a Sayyid.

Or a son, for that matter.

You find a courtier with Sayyid. You matri-marry one of your female kin to him. Their kids will be Sayyid.

Sayyid requires the father to be Sayyid. Mirza requires the mother the be Sayyid, but not the father. Mirza is a dead end. So you want women rights at max to unlock martilineal marriage to spread Sayyid and Mirza in your dynasty for that sweet free opinion bonus.

IIRC, max women rights as muslim also allows for agnatic-cognatic inheritance.

The easiest way to get Sayyid is probably to only have a daughter (marry older women, arrange divorces, find ways to kill or disinherit your sons, etc) and matrilineally marry her to a Sayyid guy. If and when they have a grandson, he will be Sayyid, as will all of his progeny.
