See, I know your vassals will occasionally fight off certain enemy troops like say... peasant revolts or raiders if they're on their territory. That's pretty cool of them.
However, they refuse to lift a finger to fight off an enemy invasion even if that invasion was going to obliterate their lands.
I know personally that it really fucking sucks to get your holdings sieged by an enemy even if the end result is you just being transferred over to another owner more or less. You lose so much money, troops, and so on and you don't get any of it back until the siege ends.
I understand the vassal troop systems is supposed to represent your vassals coming to help you as per the feudal contract, however that doesn't seem like enough. After all:
1. They only send you a partial amount of troops
2. They leave all the rest of their troops to do nothing but die
I think it would have been a bit more realistic and believable if your vassals would actually try to defend their own holdings on their own, even if it's not a war they want to be a part of. Or failing that, you'd think a few of them would willingly change sides just to avoid losing all their holdings. Instead they just watch as their stuff burns down and go "this is fine".
After all, YOU can raise your own troops even despite sending vassal troops to him already and help fight your liege's wars. So why don't your vassals?

But that's small fry compared to the big thing I want to talk about.
You see, CK2 is supposed to be a grand strategy game about politics and betrayal right? So.... where's the betrayal?
Exactly how do you betray someone in CK2? Declare independence? Assassinate them? Declare war on an ally? That's pretty small fry stuff.
Even in the ads for the game, they talk about stuff where
a general you gave your men to is now rebelling against you. Hell, I really love the CK2 ads, but I think they're right up there with some of the most misleading ads in the entire gaming history as you can do very little of what they tell you you can do.
I mean, look at this shit:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vZi1rV2a9YNONE OF THAT HAPPENS!
In this grand strategy game of politics and intrigue... there really isn't much intrigue is there?
