Wait, the byzantines didn't get stomped on by a caliphate blob?
In every single game I had recently, regardless of start date, I've seen decadence revolts not only happen, but succeed. I suspect that happened there.

Okay, more screenshots!

Spoiler: Religion (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Laws of Finnish Empire (click to show/hide)

Some notes:
- Mongol Empire failed to blob because of revolting subjects and strong resistance from attacked realms. They wasted their special troops, and they're pretty much stopped conquest.
- Conclave is actually quite good.
- Sometimes my commanders (landed vassals, specifically) leave my army just to lead their own. It is really annoying and Paradox needs to make a button which locks them to specific flank, thus preventing them from losing their position.
- Also, commanders get "mixed" when armies merge with each other, which is also annoying.
- Notable status of women law is a little bit illogical. You allow women to be Marshals, but you don't allow them to be commanders?

Okay, let's reply to some posts.

I wasn't interested in the Middle East at all, so I presume that Caliphate (and Seljuks) slowly died thanks to decadence revolts.

Good isn't boring, it takes a lot of effort to ruthlessly destroy all villains whilst remaining virtuous

I'm afraid that "villain" label can be put on pretty much every ruler in CKII, so you'll have to wipe out 99% of the rulers.

Bordergore? Please, that's barely border, uh, flesh wounds. Very nice, though! Your little empire looks like the perfect size to import to EUIV - not too powerful, as it's mainly on poor Finnish/Russian/Baltic clay, but powerful enough you can enjoy your accomplishments converting over.

Thanks! As for the bordergore, I think that CKII is quite prone to it.

I use the Exclave Independence mod to fix bordergore.

That's the point where you use your elusive shadow assassin Lord to ensure that every ruler in the entire Kingdom is a baby or child. Upon maturing of age, they disappear

Oh that's good
Alternatively, just put your spylord ruler on a transport ship and send them off to a remote island far away for the rest of their life. Only returning to land to repeat the process like some semi-mythological bogeymen haunting the Kingdom of children

So, question:

In the game I've been mentioning, in which I am the Empress of Eire (My first ruler, way back when I was a one-county count in de-jure Ireland, enacted "Absolute Cognatic" succession, which was available due to some game rules I set), I've got an issue. My husband is the King of England, and since our marriage is matrillineal all of both of our children are of my dynasty. However, at some point England switched to Elective. So, how do I make it so my heir inherits England as well? Is it even possible? Note: the Empire of Eire has Absolute Cognatic Primogeniture.

Revoke the title from your husband somehow and then destroy the title. If you're old/planning suicide and can handle a tyranny penalty, just revoke it with the diplomacy menu; otherwise, use the "revoke title" plot. Either way will probably lead to warfare, so I recommend either making sure you and your vassals' troops outnumber your husband's and his vassals', or saving up cash for a merc band or two.

I can't revoke it actually - the Kingdom of England is independent.

One option would be to wait and let your heir handle things.  They should get a claim they can press on the Kingdom of England and hopefully they can conquer it?  Its also possible your heir will win the election.  Not sure how gender laws will effect all this (what gender law is England?)

That's possible. I'm not really sure how claims work with Elective succession. He won't be winning any elections - He's in the Empire of Eire, not England. It's gender law is Agnatic.

You should get a claim regardless of it being Elective, so if I was in your shoes I'd just play the waiting game.

How the heck did you become the emperor without conquering England?
