Nope, all his former vassals outside the de jure duchy of Spoleto became direct vassals of the Holy Roman Emperor.

Well you didn't have a claim on those. They're owned by those counts and answer to the emperor, the duke was the middle man.

Or something.

The really weird part is that when I was declaring was, the blinking shape that shows the war goals were including the whole of Spoleto. Anyway, I ditched my wife and married the recently-widowed daughter of the Holy Roman Emperor. In a generation, I should have both Empire, and finally have the manpower to crush those pesky Abbasids (if the Seljuk haven't done so before).

My last session went like that, more or less:

"okay, new character. Shit, he's already 49. Damn. Thankfully his son is only 19. Time to do the real work on vassals since they already forgot the MASSIVE boni dad had as he gave them huge swathes of land when he founded the empire."
"ladida dida holy warring the slavics"
"Oh hey, my truce with the kid emperor of byzantium must be gone now, let's see if I can stomp him again"
"16k men? I can take that. Let's look at the casus belli. Claim the...? Who? ME? ... Oh that's right, my mother had a claim, and I inherited it. Well let's press it then!"
*DJIHAD FOR ANATOLIA*
"Another one? That's, what, the fourth in a century? Wait, anatolia? That's mine isn't it?" (I invaded it 5 years ago with my previous character)
*this is a formal declaration of WAR!*
"YOU PIECE OF SH*T"

So yeah, the abassid whatever dynasty replaced the abassid declared a djihad on my face. They have 32k men, and since I ended my session on the very day of the declaration of war, that doesn't include anyone else. There is only really one muslim kingdom close enough to participate (who was fought to a draw by one of my vassals anyway), plus a holy order. They should reach 40k but probably not much more.
Meanwhile, I can muster about 40k, plus the 5k of the holy order, plus whatever Hungary and Rus can send, maybe another 10k.
This should prove interesting.

Since the travel times in targarya Tartaria are awful, they will have plenty of time to suffer tons of attrition and siege damage.
Also I have yet to raise levies, so maybe I could declare my war on the byzantine, just to piss off the not!abassid with 16k of christians.

In any case, the lords of the steppes will not bow to the southern sandcrawlers! WE ARE THE HORSELORDS AND THIS LAND IS OURS

(I am pretty pissed about the whole deal, yeah)

Since CK+ is on hiatus regarding upgrade, I've been playing mostly GoT and now Elder Kings. I just find Vanilla lacking in content compared to those great mods. Anyway, Elder Kings is a new experience to me.

Interestingly, when playing wood elves, I found myself getting annoyed by their long lifespans. My queen is over hundred years old and has gained all positive green traits through magic. She has reached all ambitions. That has made me kind of bored regarding my main character. The flaws of the characters and the goals you set for them are part of the playing experience, I think. So when you have a pretty perfect ruler, what is there to gain? It might be over a century before she kicks the bucket. I've seen a Dunmer that is 400 years old, but I think Bosmers have shorter lives.

IIRC, the mod starts rolling for sudden death on elves based on your health score after a certain age. So if you have a lot of health, you may be in for a long lifespan. Or just play as a human/beastfolk.

There's the immortality mod on the forums that is pretty amusing for that.

You can set it so that your immortality can be passed down to your children.

At first it'd be like what you'd experience with the elves... where you get bored as everyone else dies but you become superman, but after a few generations you start getting some awesome rivalries with your other superhuman relatives as they inevitably start taking control of kingdoms and empires.

I got the byzantine empire in my Tartaria play, and I'm converting the save to EU4 because it's 980 and I pretty much won already.
I reached my goals and, aside from getting petty revenge on the Abids, waiting two centuries to squash the hordes, and world conquest, there's not much to do. I'd stay for the achievements but I'm not in Ironman.
See you in the EU4 thread then!

I'd love to see a custom map for CK2 following nordic legend where the map is a map of the nine realms with interconnections between each realm. Play as the frost giants and invade Asgard.

Scratch that, the converter doesn't work with the new revolt mechanics (if there is at least one revolt ongoing, the converter crashes the game if you try to use it), and no less than NINE revolts took place in Italia alone in the last eighteen years.
At this rate I'll never be able to convert, unless patches happen.
So I spent twenty years stabilizing the empire, and now I either wait for a patch or go back to conquering.

Rebellions have leaders, so you could use the console to imprison any rebelling character by the rebellion's target.  I believe the war leader's capture always raises the warscore to 100%.

Only if imprisoned by the other side.

If your not on ironman you could also just switch to the rebel leaders and surrender.

Nevermind, beta patch solved the problem.
Now, only problem is that I'm "noculture", and have horrid, horrid tech (exporting four centuries early is probably the readon).
Also I have generic, boring ideas, chinese tech group, and awkwardly placed terra incognita (namely, the whole friggin mediterranean, what the hell?)

Fun fact -- move your capital to somewhere in Europe and you'll lose the Chinese tech group. I had a Mongol game where I exported and had Chinese tech, then moved my capital to Constantinople and exported again. I was expecting Ottoman or Eastern tech, but wound up with Western instead.

Which has made the EU IV game kind of annoying. I am quite easily a match for any nation (or even coalition of nations) in Europe. But I can't ride forth and pillage the world because suddenly my population gives a shit if I conquer more than one or two non-cores. Overextension is my least favorite mechanic in EU4.

Hm, that's probably due to Constantinople having pretty high tech. I remember a game as al-Andalus where I became Ottoman tech group (capital in Cordoba) while it was 1100.

And I'd personnaly mod or tweak an exported game. Remove the no culture, gives ideas to important nations, change some cultures (cosmopolitaine hungary because the king was frankish is stupid), etc.
