I tried to follow a guide to do it, but the guide requires NK mode and Paradox patched out the ability to do that.

In one of my runs, there was a liberation revolt in Nantes with 9000 men. That was basically a GG right there.

They changed how your income works so so.instead of a flat forty percent you can lose all your income.

That was never as thing. Your income decreased the more holdings you had... Didn't it?

Hm... I wonder if that means NK mode is still possible with heavy raiding.  In my Norse run I'm pretty sure raiding income dwarfed my tax income, particularly once my retinues were able to stomp their way across france and germany sacking the securest holdings.  My personal holdings were a single small duchy, I had dozens of king vassals (nearly all of my dynasty, hehe).  The massive retinue mostly kept them from rebelling.

I came pretty close to clearing the map but got bored and granted all my vassals independence, retiring my character to Denmark (still with the massive retinue, hehe).  I need to load that save again sometime, I was apparently about 50 years away from the Golden Horde.  I'm wondering if the kingdoms, which are mostly still led by my dynasty, will ally to fight off the Horde without my help.

I used the Norse count that starts just below Britanny, invaded Ireland, and went on a ridiculous rampage with only about 2000 troops from Ireland to Scotland and into England before declaring war on my own Norse bothers. I was age 62 when I became emperor of Britannia..

There's a guy who started as that count and conquered the entire map in 25 years.

When I took all of Scotland and went into NK mode, I could only draw like.... 14 troops per demense and my income was nonexistant.

So I don't think it's possible.

So I'm getting tired to not being able to do anything, what starting point would be easy to play with the newest patch, if I dont have Rajas of india so I cant play the new religions. I have all the other dlc. Note that I dont want to play Ireland again. Thanks.

Try the Ummayads. Might be a bit easier if you ruler design a guy with high diplo and good traits (kind, etc).

One of my better games was playing as a heretic Muslim sicily, using Hurufi (as Shia starts with very few provinces, was my thinking, I'd be able to become orthodox and use the Hashashin rather easily, while being able to Holy War pretty much everyone)

Unfortunately I didn't have Sons of Abraham (still don't), so the switch never occurred. Lost interest after that.

I wonder if one could abuse the fact that rebels now get the same level of title as the one they rebel against for that Count->Emperor thing.
