What did you start with? I must say doing the 1066 start with that lone Jewish Duke sounds awesome.

It's a common problem with all the DLCs.  You might have to uninstall and reinstall everything.  I'm just thankful that I bought all my DLCs in one go.

Playing ironman Livonia, trying to reform. Kinda fun to fuck up. The start was me: raiding, buying mercs, subjugating, losing to independance wars, repeat.

Except one of those independance was a priest who I had given Novgorod. Since the priest was created by me, it was the same religion as me, meaning that I have absolutely no casus-belli against it. I have literally been waiting 40 years for a claim to be fabricated. My subjugation was used on getting Käkisalmi. I am now the king of Lithuania, having conquered nearly the whole thing. I have more than a thousand piety, and I have bumped up moral authority by raiding the crap out of temples. I just need that goddamn claim. Just one claim, is that really too much to ask for?

The general method of giving someone a new piece of land in Empire of Gods is to have a nice ceremony with all their friends and family, informing them of the new change of title, followed by my guards escorting them to jail. It works wonders. Bonus points if it's a pregnant woman, then you get to jail two generations instead of just the one.

I subjugated Chud(which controlled Novgorod) with my next queen. Then decided that my newly conquered duke had a lot of land and might create problems during the numerous independance wars, so I decided to release the duke. I didn't realize that I was a a king when I subjugated him, and he was a duke, and therefore all the conquered land would be released together with him. I facepalmed so hard that Ironman heard it and saved.

Looks like another 60 years of waiting for a claim.

EDIT: YES! YES! FINALLY! Seems the religion will be reformed by a cynical and deceitful harelipped woman.

I had the absurd-est case of dumb luck. I started as the Duke of Prague in 1066, some stuff happened, but anyway, I formed a faction to Lower Crown Authority back to Autonomous, but I dun goofed and ultimatum'd the Emprah at 76-ish percent of manpower.

Yeah, it went about as well as you can imagine, EXCEPT, I took a loan, hired some mercs, and lucked into timing the victories perfectly in synch with other problems arising in HRE's western reaches. So the Emperor decided that he cannot handle so many wars at once AND SURRENDERED. HE FUCKING SURRENDERED. I've been thinking White Peace is optimist, but then luck happens and he surrenders.

Then I managed to expand my lands further north and south, but am now facing some issues.

Also, I finally learned why Elective is awesome. For it is.

So I got all the new DLC just now, but the game keeps crashing on startup. Anyone know what's going on?

Reinstall and make sure you're not using any outdated mods.

I noticed in one of the Steam achievements, Russkaya Pravda, it says you have to create the Kingdom of Russia. There is a Kingdom of Rus, but Russia is an Empire.

That actually makes sense - they didn't make up the word 'Tsar' out of nowhere. 'Tsar' is basically the Russian equivalent to 'Kaiser' - a Russification of the title of 'Caesar', i.e. emperor. And emperors rule, duh, empires. So there.

No, I mean in the game there are Duchies, like Novgorad, Beloozer, and Tver. Once someone has conquered 50%+ of the counties (which make up Duchies) of the Kingdom of Rus, they form the Kingdom of Rus. Once someone, possibly the Kingdom of Rus, conquers 50% of the Empire of Russia, which is MUCH larger and consists of the Kingdoms of Ruthenia and Perm and Rus, they can form the the Empire of Russia. In the game Russia is an Emperor level holding, not a King like the achievement would suggest.

Duchies and kingdoms are 51% actually.
