They just wanted to make them a problem, instead of before where they were a roadbump. Now they actually raise up enough rebels to provide a legitment problem.

I still feel like they don't really provide a legitimate threat. Maybe I was just lucky but early game I never had a revolt that was large enough to worry about. Later they are even less of a threat - the biggest stack I've seen was 12k soldiers.

How do you get so many rebels o.O?

Once your empire gets large enough to encompass several different cultures and religions revolts start popping up all over the place. Started happening to me around the year 1000.

If revolts were tweaked to be significantly stronger it might help against the massive realms that have been popping up since the Old Gods came out. Maybe they would slow down the Magyars and Norsemen.

In other news it looks like The Old Gods has done so well that the CKII team is planning on two years of DLC. My wallet is going to be very sad.

Never would have thought the devs were lazy enough to copy paste their own localization files across games though,   ;D.
Would anyone here be interested in playing a mod where you're a bear?
Your proposition is amusing and interesting, please clarify.

Do you mean you control a single bear and rampage across Europe or you head a clan of bears and rampage across Europe? Or perhaps you are referring to being a bear pretending to be a human and rampaging across Europe?

All it needs is special art of your character as a bear, with a little crown on. Then it's practically perfect, would buy.

How do first-born son twins work during primogeniture, anyway?

The one with the lower character identification number succeeds first. Just like in real-life one twin is born before the other.
(you need to activate debug mode to see this number)

Ah, so that's how it works. I thought it would be that way~

I guess when it comes to medieval succession, "I'm older!" "Yeah, by like 2 minutes." is a little more... heavy, than now. :P

It'd be cool if you could have like a dual-king on the throne. Somehow. No idea how it would work.

Only if you have dual king titles.

I meant two kings on one throne.

I KNOW it's not currently possible, and probably is IMpossible. Still, kinda cool~

Historically it could go either way depending on the culture. Dual kings were common in Scandinavia for example and often there would be a "peacetime" and "wartime" king.

From a mechanically gameplay stance I'm not all that sure how you could have dual kings. I suppose you could have the war/peacetime thing which would allow you to switch rulers depending on their stats/current peace stance. You could also just have a "major/minor" dual kingdomship where one king basically rules everything and the other king bums around the court drinking too much mead.
It could add a bit of substance to the game and spice and succession laws a bit.

I have no idea how a dual kingdom would succeed when both the kings have died. I suppose it would be passed on to the children of the last king who died?

Each title would pass to each titleholder's respective heir.

I think dual kings happened alot in medieval times, I think usually a ruler would appoint one his brothers as some sort of lesser king.

I once had a dream after reading about the idea of a bear mod where I used the Americas map and conquered the de jure USA with bears.

Because as we all know from the threat down, the number one threat to America is:
Bears!!!

Also #2.

Damn, I wish I had actually released my bear mod so that I could complain that Paradox stole my idea, but now I feel justified in not actually having continued working on it very much.
I am very excited for this to be released, though, especially if it changes actual game mechanics and wouldn't work in a mod.
