Cool. That works~

Also, I figured it out: I already had Sword of Islam somehow.
In case you're still trying to get access to the dlc, if you bought it through the gamersgate version go to the in-game store and 'reinstall' the dlc in question.

No I just mis-read the DLC, LoR came through I just didn't see it, and SoI was "new" to me.

Thinking about purchasing this since it's on sale for $10 and it sort of looks like it's in the direction of my alley.  Pros and cons?  Do you think it'll be slashed at the summer sale?
It honestly might be worth splashing out the extra ten dollars for the 20 dollar collection which includes all the major DLC's except the new Old Gods DLC (that's Sword of Islam, Legacy of Rome, The Republic, and a bunch of cosmetic DLC's I don't think anyone really cares about).
They really add a lot to the gameplay, and while I suspect there will be a summer sale for this, it's not going to be the 75% off you can get right now.

I also suspect that the old gods DLC will be on sale for $7 or something during the summer (versus the full $15 for it right now).

Hmmm... well, I shouldn't pay out $20 right now and I have a lot of other games I'm not even close to finishing (ACII, ME2, Witcher2, entire Deus Ex series, all of Half-Life, Portal2, the entire Geneforge series... and there's more >_> <_<), so I'll probably just wait on it until I have Income.

Do you think I'd like it, though, Pnx?  I trust your opinion.

Well it's certainly a game that's not for everyone, it can be a bit frustrating and tedious at times, but I personally have enjoyed it and sunk many hours into it.

I can't speak for certain about if you'll like it or not, but I'd place favourable odds on "yes".

Hmmm, okay.  Thank you!

I'll plan to get it later, then, and until that time I'll hang out in this thread reading about everyone's impressions.

Well, I'm really liking it so far. I did mod the game so pagans have access to open (Muslim) succession though.
Two side effects of that:
-Every pagan ruler started with it. I did not change any history files so I assume it's something hardcoded to deal with Muslims accidentally getting the wrong succession law.
-According to the RAWs (I didn't test it yet) a Muslim's ability to freely revoke duchies is depended on the open succession law rather that the Muslim religion.
It's also by far the best succession law, so pagans are a bit stronger than usual I guess
I'm fairly sure both of these can be fixed by giving pagans a duplicate version of open succession (without the freely revoke = yes line) but I was to lazy to do so~

Oh, and tanistry is be default unlocked to Pagans (everyone really), they just need to be Celtic. I doubt anyone will change to it in my game though, as I doubt the AI will ever change from open and I am not going to become Celtic anytime soon/

Is it normal to have areas with supply of 700 or could the patch have broken my save somehow? I started sieging neighbouring province and almost my entire army died. All the nearby provinces have supply of many thousands except the one Im in and one other next to it.

Pagan land is now pretty damn hard to conquer.

So yes, it is normal.

Did multiplayer with Scriptwolf and others of the new DLC. Magyars are hilariously easy, starting with a 12k stack and gaining another if they form hungary. Reforming involves taking on Khazar or Cumania, however.

Ireland is literally just waiting to be conquered in a single campaign, it's a bit silly. You can declare conquest on all but 2 provinces and probably win so long as you have > ~5k armies.

Ugh I stupidly got this game! WHY WHY WHY!?! Impulse buying bites me hard.

Not that this game is bad, but it REALLY wasn't made for me and I should have known better.
