Holy crap, I just inherited Hungary in it's whole because I installed a maimed family member on the throne. That was not what I intended at all.

But if everyone in Hungary is fine with that, I guess I'll keep it! Hehehe! Well, at least until I die and Hungary's throne passes on to my kinsman in Jerusalem because Hungary is Seniority and Agnatic (my heir is female). Oh well, there's always the faint chance that I might inherit it a second time in the future.

Are there any mods that allow you to play as a courtier?  I mean, you don't have any lands or titles, but you could get some, and you can also get money, prestige piety.  You'd have to scheme your way to the top.

I don't think so. And I doubt it's possible at this current state, because as far as I can see the one-county-minimum requirement seems to be a core part of the game, requiring an engine rewrite.

Just revoke all the titles and give them to your female heir.  I'm sure nothing can go wrong there...

Hungary is a lost cause no matter what I do: Revoking everything without inciting revolts would push my tyranny through the roof, inciting revolts would bring I'd guess 1/2 of all my vassals or more with it due to their low opinions of me, I'm pretty sure I can't change both the Seniority and Agnatic succession laws with this one ruler, and even if I could I have vassals that hate me too much.

It really shouldn't be that big of a deal.

The hard part about getting a country is getting your dynasty to rule it, but once your family does... you can just relax. It's really hard for your family to lose its grip on the inherited throne now. And if you ever want it back, it's just a simple round of assassinations. For all intents and purposes, that country is yours now.

After getting 2 Dishonorable levels from my 2/3 plots being discovered (-20 opinion), and it passing to my heir (with the same -20 opinion), I really don't trust assassinations anymore. I will not assassinate ever again unless there's a really good reason or some way to avoid getting found out.

It's really hard for your family to lose its grip on the inherited throne now.
