I think it only happens when your demesne is too big. It's like passing the infamy limit in EU3: most of the shitty events only happen when you do that.

So i just started up a game as Leon.

30 years in, 2 kings have died and I'm about 7 years old, galacia is gone as I was poised to inherit it all thanks to grandfather becoming sterile and passing the kingdom on to my mother, navarre took most of castille before I could get it and the moors are a gods damn unstoppable juggernaut.

Ireland sure isn't slow when I play it.  Of course, I use mercenaries to gobble up everyone else.

So I think the game is seriously lacking a "self-esteem" or "self worth". 

Right now you can be cavern, humble, charitable, just and nice and you can still plot to kill half your court, it seems a little silly. Basically there needs to be a system where you have a self opinion and whenever you do something against your nature/traits it gets lowered. It would enforce roleplaying the character and make traits have far more weakness and strengths. The lower your self-wealth is the lower your health rating drops and heightens the chance of depression or insanity.

You're a nice guy but keeping the heathens out of Hispania is really having it's toll on you. You've had to kill a whole bunch of weak-minded vassals who were too caught up in their own self-decadence to care about the threat over the horizon. You're also a bit of a coward and you had to lead the armies yourself instead of being in the tent planning. You've now taken to the bottle and everything seems hopeless when finally the Pope calls for a crusade overwhelming you with European support. With the threat of being conquered by the Moors gone, you slowly regain your vigor and go back to treating your people and vassals justly.

Art is a terrible man who united Ireland under an iron fist. He's brave and handsome which usually rallies the support of his underlings but he has a weakness of women. A coalition of bastard children given poor lands to keep quiet have rallied against him. Art uses his handsome looks to seduce the widowed queen of Scotland to his aid but the alliance is broken when an affair is uncovered and the Pope allows the Queen to divorce him. Art suffered only a few loses in the war and it seems the rebels are willing to negotiate if the price is right. Art however is terribly proud and has been worked into a blood lust from the loses. He continues to fight a losing battle while vassal after vassal stop their support and turn on him.

Only problem is, if you're immortal and/or invincible, aren't you throwing several sources of risk-enjoyment out the window?

Also, link to the dragon one? I couldn't find it in the master mod list.

Found it here.  Not sure about the specifics as I have not played it yet.  A flaw that I am seeking to correct.

I don't think you can play a dragon in that yet. Everything in the thread seems to be concerned with vampires at the moment.

Unfortunately, I think you are right.  I couldn't see options to become a dragon, only a vampire.
