So, I have a Possessed daughter, right? And I've married her to two kings so far, right?

Well... they both died young in suspicious accidents...

I once had a family in my court that consisted of a father, 2 sons, and one woman that had married them all in the following order: younger son, elder son, father. I made sure that black widow never got hold of any titles.

So how are CKII mods coming along? I've played through vanilla and while I enjoyed it, I found to be far too easy and there seemed to be a lack of interesting things happening with the event system. I think Crusader Kings 2 has the potential to be an awesome game, but right now it feels a bit bland and a bit too easy.

Theres quite a few out there, including Lux Invicta and CK2 Plus. You need to have an account on the Paradox forums and enter your code for the mod sub-forum to show up though.

I use the "Prince and the Thane" mod. Feels like the base vanilla game but it is expanded upon greatly.

Speaking of the Prince and the Thane mod, how does it compare to CK2+? Some time ago back with patch 1.05g I tried it for a little while (1 game for a short time), but then I ragequitted from it for silly reasons then went to CK2+ and never went back. Can anyone with more experience tell me how the two mods compare?

Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

How could you have possibly done that in only 50 years?

I imagine successive invasion cbs. Win invasion of England, launch invasion of France, launch invasion of HRE.

How could you have possibly done that in only 50 years?

1. I started a plot to get a claim on France and waited for it to be completed before accepting England's surrender. That made me the King of England, with a claim on France.
2. I declared war on France, then used a mercenary doomstack to crush France's armies quickly, while taking the counties through attrition. By the time northern France was fully occupied, I managed to force a surrender on the King of France and became the King of England & France.
3. The HRE still had more land than me, that allowed me to get an Invasion casus belli on them. With France and England together, my levies were large enough to beat the HRE back; the Emperor surrendered and the HRE became my primary title.
4. I started the Reconquista on the Iberian Peninsula and pushed vassal claims on Scotland and southern Ireland. The rest of Ireland accepted vassalage without further military intervention; being an Emperor made it possible to  get the Dukes to turn over peacefully.
5. I invited pretenders to the crowns of Hungary, Sicily and Croatia to my court, gave them some land in the Empire (by then, Francia, Brittania and the HRE) and pressed their claims; since they were my de jure vassals and I was capable of having Kings as vassals, they stood by me after becoming rulers.

If anything, the surprising bit is that William made it all the way to 89 years, which gave me enough time to change the succession laws for the three Empires. He is 86 in that screenshot.

Quite impressive.

I've heard of people having trouble getting this to work, though I guess giving them land in your realm first is the trick. Strangely enough I've discovered that if one of your vassals inherits a Kingdom (and you are an Emperor), they become independent rather than staying as your vassal, and any land you've given them joins their realm, seemingly regardless of your crown laws.

Even if they are part of your dynasty, if they are not your vassals they will go independant once you press their claims. However, in spite of their opinion of you, if they are a vassal of yours, wheter directly or indirectly, and you outrank their new title, they will remain a vassal.

And yes, inheriting does work that way; unless you are the inherited title's de jure liege, then they stay with you.

Personally, I use Holy Wars to get me piety for wars against other catholic countries and land for my demesne, which I can then give to interesting claimants  to bind them to my rule. I usually go to war with several neighbouring infidels at a time. They can't get a decent hold on my massive territory and doing so maximizes my gains as, otherwise, they'd all join the same war in defense of the faith; this way I can gain a duchy from each of them. I am also an avid user of ships for fast movement.

Warning: the image under the spoiler is roughly 4 mb large.
Tip: Try converting to a (high quality) Jpg. I got a similar 1680x1050 image down to ~800kb. Png images are very high quality, but size wise they're much better suited for images with less colors. Jpg images are much better for multi-color jobs.

Anyway, holy crap, nicely done.

Actually, let me rephrase a little bit: Png is better with more "flat-color sharp-edged" pictures, not just less colors. But less colors help obviously.

Other than the obvious difference in texture detail, I suppose that is one of the reasons why EU3 screenshots always fit well with Png for me.
