If you have multiple of your highest-tier, they split up.

Otherwise, your eldest gets your main tier, and other counties get split up amongst the youngers. Maybe duchies are split too, if you have them.

That's not true. Inheritance laws are per kingdom/empire. So if you have two gavelkind kingdoms they will both be split up individually and your eldest sons will get both kingdom titles because the eldest son gets the best title with gavelkind. Your realm will only split of you have multiple county/duchy titles and no kingdom/empires titles.

This. I think kingdoms will only be split up if you own an empire title.
Personally I hate gavelkind because you end up with your kids giving out titles with no concern for the conflict the vassals will probably concoct. Don't give one guy a duchy and a county in another duchy, then some other guy the actual duchy, along with another county somewhere else.. and so on.

So, I just started a game as the Female Bedouin Shia Heretic ruler of the Holy Roma- oh excuse me. Salian Empire.

She is Homosexual ugly imbecile, who is also a Dwarf and weak. She has slain kin in the past, has committed all seven deadly sins, and tends to be Arbitrary, Crule, and Zealous. She also tends to be Shy, paranoid, and a Coward.

She has zero in all stats, except for Intrigue, which she has 1 point in.

I don't actually know, but I'd assume not. It's just the ruler that's been excommunicated after all, not the entire country's army.

Once they are all in prison.  Make sure you raise all your realm levies before you start imprisoning everyone.

I'd think the hard part will be finding someone to matrilinerally marry you.   I suppose you can use the generate courtier event and force yourself on them.

Now that I'm awake and not rambling like a lunatic, sure: Read this

Basically, pick the worst of your inheritable traits and try to marry someone with the opposite trait, so the kids are less likely to be plagued by those traits.  Considering how much !!FUN!! your character contains, you'll have to select based upon whom is available (probably limited to those in your court, but even at -100 there may be some courtiers that other lieges simply don't care about) and what you find most terrible genetically about your current character.

Thankfully, most of your negative traits can be removed via education, as they are not genetic in nature.  Make sure your children are raised by tier 4 characters: The best in their profession.  I had an imbecile character with 12 diplomacy because she was a Trusting Grey Emminence.

By the way, where did you find such a character?  If it's in one of the default years, I'd like to try playing her myself!
