Also, I've seen a worse Ilkhanate before: Eaten Russia and bordering the HRE. Yours is actually fairly mild in comparison.

In addition, I like how Iceland did absolutely nothing of note. Really, guys, are you sure you're fine with just that cold island up there?

Pretty sure I was playing as Greece over there. I am also Despot of Anatolia and Bulgaria.

And you would also be completely right with the Iceland assumtion. They have just be chilling up there in the cold cold north doing absolutely nothing for about 200 years.

They've got a good thing going up there. See, they show the world the cold barren wastelands, volcanos and ward us away by telling us they have to survive by eating rotten shark... Really though, it's like a winter paradise with hot springs everywhere and their cod that was so delicious they fought a war over it in the 70s.

Iceland doesn't want our shit and they do their damnedest to make us think we don't want theirs.

From an actual gameplay stance, they can't do much. Iceland has very few holdings, I think the most they can get in their two provinces are about two holdings each. This means, coupled with the poor economic value of Iceland, that they can't field a large army at all. They have nothing to do or able to do rather than chill. You'll find that they can't even capture each other due to their very low man power limits.
Due to their location nobody wants to conquer them either. All they can do is sit around and pray that they find some drift wood.

Well, I've seen the screenshot thread where the Golden Horde got to Iceland several times, so the Ilkhanate getting there isn't too surprising since in my games they usually eat up the GH.

You give the AI too much credit. First they have to find someone who's weaker than them, which is a really hard thing to do. Next they need a claim to go to war. Next they have to win that war without that person bringing in allies. Finally they have to ferry troops across the ocean and unless they've been building cities they'll have very little in the way of galleys. 
Iceland is just not very good.

The Broken Kingdoms mod is just way too fun. I think this is the first time ever I started in Germany... simply because this time there's no stupidly annoying Holy Roman Empire to deal with. I accidentally formed the kingdom of Freesia (?) when my uncle (the son of my first character who I randomly married off), who somehow stole the throne of Holland by himself, decided to become a heretic and got a crusade declared on him. So I decided to help smack some sense into the dumbass (family is family right?).

When we won, the Pope declared me the king of Freesia. I have no idea what Freesia is. I might even be spelling it wrong.

Now while I consolidate my lands and try to form Germany proper, I'm also attempting to put members of my family into every single German court there is. It's kinda like the whole world is racing to become kings and emperors and it's glorious.

When we won, the Pope declared me the king of Freesia. I have no idea what Freesia is. I might even be spelling it wrong.

My guess is he means this Frisia.

Kind of a small place to be a kingdom, but to be fair Navarra isn't that big either.
