Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I don't think the Kaiser is very popular.

Note: Some of the people were already independent. Still, the majority aren't.

Yeah, France likes to do that too.

What's a character of specific interest there in that screenshot?

France always seems to be in a state of Balkanization, which is why I'm impressed they managed to not only hold together, but engulf Brittany and Normandy (Let me guess - you repelled William?)

They're characters designated by right-clicking on their portrait, right-clicking the portrait icon popup, then clicking the star popup.

I didn't do anything, the AI kicked him out. Quite effectively, too: William got his ass kicked. My provinces in Lancaster were barely besieged.

Neither did I, until I found out it was possible to right click on right click popups.

The AI f**ks up history skillfully on it's own, really.

So it turns out Mansa Musa is in the game as emperor of the Mali Empire pre 1337. He's charitable and proud but doesn't seem to be on Hajj for a whole bunch of years nor has an arse-load of gold, a little disappointing but still cool.

To be fair. There were at least a few points in history where what happened wasn't actually the most likely thing to happen.

Just because you set up a situation the same way at the beginning doesn't mean it's going to end the same way every time.

I'm not criticizing it, the whole butchering history part is the game's main appeal. Tsardom of Russia conquering the Byzantine Empire? Golden Horde being vanquished by Sweden? Sicily conquering all of Africa? All great fun.

CK2 is on sale for $9.99 right now, which is a great price. Don't get the Collection, because you'll be paying about $10 more than you would getting all of the DLC.

Quick question: Does the African Unit Pack add anything other than stupid unit graphics? I think I'm going to round out my DLC now that almost everything is 40% - 75% off.

This is on Steam if it wasn't obvious. Bought Sword of Islam for 2 euros and something.

Man, I wish females could lead armies. My wife has a martial of 27. And she's an Aggressive leader and specialized in cavalry. If she could lead armies, she would utterly trash anyone who gets in her way.

Sounds like there needs to be a "Joan of Arc"-type event that could allow uniquely qualified females to command armies (maybe with a Prestige loss to the ruler or something...)

The AI in my game is derping out.

See, there are three armies: 2100 of guy 1 in one province, 700 of guy 1 in an adjacent province, and 1100 of guy 2 in a province adjacent to both of the other provinces. Guy 1 is at war with guy 2.

So, guy 2 sees guy 1's 700 army and goes "murderdeathkill" and moves for it. Guy 1 sees this and moves the army towards his 2100 army, and moves his 2100 army towards his 700 army.

Guy 2 goes "OH SHIT" and stops. Guy 1, seeing no more trouble, stops moving his armies.

And then the cycle repeats. Again. And again. And again. With nobody fighting another at all. Sigh, AI, why you so dumb?
