Awesome.

Also, in one of the screenshots an ugly, shy, and paranoid guy is an 'inspiring leader'.
Great, more conflicting trait.

Maybe he's just shy and paranoid in court - on the field of battle he's the badass that inspires everyone. And soldiers don't generally care if their leader is ugly as long as he gets the job done.

Some things in DoomDark answered (in case you don't want to read the whole thread).

-The Dutch will have a cultural building! All other cultures as well, but that is less important.
-Becoming a Muslim through console commands / conversion will result in a game over. This is only if you don't have the dlc of course.
-Court Imams can create piety as a job action
-Muslims don't get a wrong holding penalty for owning mosques.
-Byzantines start with less holdings
-Muslim Mongols are playable as well in later start dates.

Starting as a count in France is...frustrating.  You have to go through the "wait for money, build something, wait for money...." thing that plagues these smaller guys.  But I'm slowly developing Auvergne.  I'm trying to roleplay a dutifully religious family, with the children being taught to be brave, zealous, and such.

If I get a good power base, I'm gonna go Holy War on the infidels like there's no tomorrow.

Mistakes can cost one dearly it seems.

I have modded my game to turn Estonia catholic, so I can play properly. Start off with 2 provinces, and Vodi up for grabs immediately. Then by waging holy wars at the same time as Sweden and Denmark and with the help of mercenaries, I got two pieces of the duchy of Livonia. But because I was slow to notice that Sweden and Denmark were doing that, Sweden got the other two. What followed was me usurping the title from Sweden, and then an extended war, cause Sweden atacked me wanting Liivimaa and Tartu. I managed to win the war, taking out his claim and making him pay back some of the money I spent defending.

I then took Saaremaa and Latgale from Sweden, cause I had de jure from Livonia on em. Got them quite easily cause I timed it at the same time as Sweden was having an excommunication war with Poland. But now the problem is, Sweden wants its lands back. Showed up with a stack of 4000, which I simply cant beat. Im afraid that if he pushes the claims and gets Saaremaa and Latgale, he is gonna usurp the duchy of Livonia, and take Tartu and Liivimaa as well. I dont know what to do to stop that. Except trying to become a vassal of Sweden and then becoming independant and regaining my lands when the time is right.

And all this trouble because I didnt grab some pieces of land early enough.

'They can conquer any province bordering one of their own for 50 Piety (vassalizing the current count if possible)'

I'm not sure I like this. It's going to make starting out as small Muslim counts SUCK, when all of the larger Muslim states around you can just conquer you whenever they feel like it.

yoof...My Irish kingship is getting complicated. I had three sons, Mael-Ciaran (II), Murcheadich and Dungal. Of these, the first was the worst, so I began trying to build up the second with an eye towards quietly eliminating the first. The second turned out to be incredibly hostile towards me. I made him Court Chaplain and bestowed other numerary honors upon him, only for him to become a Lollard. He's been in my dungeon for 20 years now. I had betrothed the third to the grandaughter of the last King of Scotland, rightly deducing that she would one day inherit the Scottish crown and any son could potentially unite the two kingdoms. Dungal turned out gay, but nonetheless produced three daughters before dying.

FUUUUUUUU----

So Mael-Ciaran II wound up inheriting the throne. He has a son, Eamonn. Eamonn is now betrothed to his first cousin, the eldest daughter of his uncle Dungal and the current Queen of Scotland. To wit, Eamonn is 1st in line for the throne of Ireland. His wife-to-be is 1st in line for the throne of Scotland. Assuming neither of them are assassinated or die from the waves of typhoid that seem to sweep the isles, they should produce an heir who will inherit and unite the two thrones.  :D
And is likely to be an inbred freak.  :'(

And additionally, Mael-Ciaran II remarried after his wife died, and has had like four more kids, three of them sons. So there are going to be PLENTY of claimants to the throne. >_<
This game needs a "Neuter your ruler" plot.

My first ruler finally died at the ripe old age of really old. His children are all dead, so one of his grandsons inherited, and everything hit the fan all at once.

Sweden asked the pope to excommunicate me, so he did for no reason. (Well, the pope did have -7 relationship with me. But seriously?) The excommunication, along with rampant dislike of the new monarch (Short reign, slightly lower diplomacy), everybody started hating me. My vassals all started rebelling, including one of my aunts, a Duke, and a major vassal.

Everything turned out well, though. I smashed the rebels into submission and claimed the titles that they held for myself. Really, I can't complain at all! I'm just happy no one else has turned around to declare war on me. Now I hold the maximum number of counties under my personal control, with the rest of everything else being held by my sons and cousins, all of whom are too young to cause too much trouble at the moment.

Long live the king!

Your next ruler is going to have hell to deal with, though. All your sons is going to inherit claims on the titles he inherits. That will be fun.

My Byzantine Empire just ate Hungary which had already eaten Croatia. :o

Not as impressive as Scotland having southern England, southern Ireland, and north+south France, but still.

Also, Ilkhanate is in Siberia. They stretch from the bottom of the map to the top. Good grief.

Edit: No, the Byzantine Empire didn't eat Hungary... Hungary ate the Byzantine Empire. The Greeks aren't pleased, obviously, so they're revolting.

Edit2: The Hungarians are having severe trouble right now. And Scotland just got Norway in it's entirety. Good god, the Scottish are a superpower now.

Interesting bit of a cultural power struggle happening in England in my Aelfricson campaign.

Basically its between the Norwegians lead by the Ynglings (They took England and subsequently got pretty much exiled from Norway) and Saxons. (which seem to be lead by me)

I'm slowly fabricating claims and ousting every Norwegian duke I can while the Norwegians are trying to sway various Dynasty members of mine into becoming Norwegian. Quite Interesting.

In other news the Dunkelds in Scotland have done well, they are currently set up so that when the current King of Scotland dies the Successor will become King of three kingdoms. Scotland, Norway and Brittany.  (Edit Make that four, Scotland apparently got the Kingdom of Jerusalem at some point too)

Marrying heirs is so easy to exploit. I goofed around with it a bit and as an Irish count I managed to inherit Scotland, England, France, and Denmark within 50 years and during my first ruler's life span. He had a ton of daughters, so I just married his daughters matrilineally to sons of the rulers (if you invite a second son to court, they'll usually come due to being pretenders, then you can marry them however you want) and started plotting to kill everyone in the way and waiting for a grandson. As soon as a grandson was born you set it up so that the son in law inherits, then off him, then off the grandson, and bam - title is back to you.

In the case of Denmark the ruler was female so my heir married her, fathered a son, then I had her killed. The funny thing is the son was the spymaster, so when I plotted to kill the wife he joined in without any persuasion and gave +110% to the plot score. Then after she died I plotted to kill the grandson to give myself the throne, and the son (still the spymaster) joined in the plot again. So I basically just sent a note to my heir saying to kill his wife and son and he's all "Ok!" and a few weeks later I'm king of Denmark and I gave the son all the non-king Denmark titles (two duchies and 5 counties). Denmark was elective, but I was still counted as the top heir when it came to it.

If I had been more active I could have probably taken other kingdoms all over the place, but it was mostly a test run. Might even be able to nab the HRE like this, although you may have to murder more people to get your grandkid and then yourself in as the favorite for the electors.

THat sounds like something I'd see in Dune. Except with less details about said plots.

In case anyone's interested for whatever reason, here's a image of the current situation of my game's world that I'm posting for whatever reason.

Spoiler: Warning, large (click to show/hide)
X=The (often quick) end of a nation of some sort after they expanded along the line. (Except for Genoa, the X means the loss of the territory they acquired)
Checkmark=The quick acquisition of an entire nation of some sort in a very short time. Checkmark is the color of the nation acquired.

If anyone is curious about anything that isn't African/Iberian (I didn't pay much attention to them), feel free to ask.
