Ireland achieved! And then my founding monarch (Murchaid the Noble) promptly died from stress, leaving a 4-year old to inherit the throne, and his greedy spymaster grandmother as his regent. The bitch kept stealing gold from my treasury any time there's more than 20 gold, and I was powerless to stop her. Eventually there was some kind of power play going on offstage, and she was replaced by another courtier. Thought about throwing her in prison, but without clear justification, that could backfire bigtime on me. At least she can't steal any more.
Now I just have to worry about my sister, who has a claim on the Irish throne and keeps wanting to get married. I told her to go be a nun. She didn't take it well.
Oh, and history has an odd way of repeating itself. Even though England is now Norway South, Ulster still managed to fall under foreign domination, this time to a Norwegian vassal of the Scottish throne. I saved and DoW'd Scotland just to see how bad it would be. It's BAD. I can muster about 3700 troops in the realm, King Alfgar of Scotland can muster some 13000. And apparently the sea passage between Galloway and Ulster isn't blockadeable (Summoned up 140+ galleys, which did absolutely nothing to oppose the Scottish Army's crossing of the strait.)
Actually, is there sea combat? I was a little shocked that my galleys were useless. I was expecting it to be like EU3, where an unopposed fleet can block enemy amphibious movement in that zone.
