So I finally managed to unite the
British Irish Isles. I'm sure vets of the game could have done it much quicker and better than me but I'm rather proud since it was only my second "real game".
Taking England was of course the hardest part, quite annoying to slowly nom at their many provences.
Along the way I also became the king of The Holy Lands from an early crusade where I crushed the stupid AI.
Along the way I somehow managed to get a pretender on the thone of Bohemia. So I usurped the throne and started a very bloody war against the whole HRE. Luckly they were off fighting the muslims in Spain (which they ended losing), and I was free to keep the throne I didn't quite want.
England had a large investment in Spain and owned almost half of the provences there. After I usurped the throne of England they all splintered off into various Spanish sub-states like Granda and Portugal. A fitting end to such an annoyance.
My "Emperor of the Irish Isles" was a 64 year old crusader with quite a large amount of prestiage. My eldest ruler (also ironically a Crusader) lived to 89. Quite a feat!
He's the lord of seven thrones: Wales, Ireland, Brittany, England, Bohemia, Jerusalem and Scotland
And finally the world map in 1239.
Castile used to own much more of France before it collpased (mostly due to a bloody turf war with myself). The black nation near "Denmark" is the Knights Templar. The Polish queen gave them the lands for whatever reason.
Apart from that the map stayed very static. apart from the few random "mass rebellions" that plagued the HRE.
Unsure what to do next. I suppose claiming Normandy would be on the list and perhaps taking Egypt back. Apart from that I've reach the awkard stage where there's nothing really standing in my way. Both Empires tremble at my might and I don't really feel like getting involved in the imperial politics, although I guess that's the logical next step.
