Wow, I didn't realize they improved multiplayer so much. It used to be so difficult to get a game running but now it's just a simply lobby system and you don't need to do that annoying forum logon thing.

yep! The only issue now is making sure everyone version is the same...which means everyone has to start the game over if there is a disconnect or if someone already had it open...not really a big deal

Fucking Byzantine Isauros want my Dubrovnik! Currently my main army is cornered in Belgrad by Queen Markia of Greece's armies. Queen Markia's armies will be crossing the river Danube - this will be our chance to stall the Byzantine advance. Reinforcements from the Miroslav family will be delayed due to the respective monarchs of Miroslav Germany, Wallachia and Croatia being incompetent generals who don't know how to keep their armies from being destroyed by Slavs. Bavaria and Saxony will not participate as they are not as amenable to Serbia's cause as they are to the Isauros - ungrateful bastards, as Serbia had twice intervened to save Bavaria and Saxony from being toppled by rebels and pagans. Serbia must either score a crushing victory in the Battle of Belgrad, or else buy enough time to secure an alliance with Lombardy and have their troops relieve the siege. With any luck the end of the 2nd Crusade should at the very least allow the Shia Barrani family to tear down the Byzantines and give Serbia some reprieve. It's not looking good.

Does anyone know why I can't educate my own son? He is of age, my guy doesn't have any negative characteristics nor is he teaching anyone else, and my wife can teach him, but not my character.

I also noticed that upon loading my save, some of my provinces weren't mine. Wtf? Was there an update recently or something?

In my experience, having an exceptionally high rating is enough.  But it probably helps if your liege likes you.  It's a bit rare for me, but there are a few unique messages for when you succeed at helping them out.

I've only been Chancellor or Steward though, I wonder if you get more interesting options as a spymaster.

Only interesting option as spymaster is 300% plot power for any plots against the liege, I'd wager.  Marshall just means getting to die in your liege's wars.
