I think the fun thing about ironman is that no one can accuse you of cheating or save scumming.

I also like the achievements as besides the few really easy ones, they're actually quite challenging to get.

I also like how Ironman forces to player to live with their mistakes, but don't like any time a game gives you a choice without all the necessary info.  Too much like real life for my blood!

Exactly, I mean its fun sometimes to just spawn fifty trillion strong armies and crush any possible opposition, but its so much more rewarding when you can't, and you get all kinds of awesome despite the random "fuck you" moments.

I love ironman but I also like to play as different realms as offshoots of any one game, and I can't do that in ironman. Also, it makes the game run like molasses on my laptop after ~1250 or so due to the constant auto saves, so I don't play it much anymore.

There is currently a bug with Ironman saving, it should be better with the next patch. Hopefully they fix the religious rebel bug as well. I gave up playing my India game where I was getting a constant flood of rebels.

Ironman is bugged as hell. Just started my first Ironman game in India and instantly get an achievement for being a Christian king in India, even though I'm Hindu as fuck.

After that I installed the ROI version of HIM, only to realize after an hour or so of playing that there's no India ;_;

The beta patch is out. The patch should come out of beta next week. One of the more interesting features is that now you can search for people based on their traits. Seems like the religious unrest bug is fixed, but it won't be fixed in save games before the patch. I guess that means it might be best to start a fresh game if you were being plagued by religious rebels.

Is there a good way to gain karma as a hindu? There is a 500 karma cost for the subjugation CB and I have a hard time accumulating that much.
