I use a map for cleaner (smaller) borders, and sometimes Umbrea Spherea or Game of Thrones.

I use CK2+.

Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

Elder Kings and Lux Invicta when I can be bothered to understand how you are supposed to set the thing up nowadays.

I play the game vanilla. Most of the mods make the game already more annoying/slow then it already is, in my own opinion. I am following the Kingdom of Gensokyo mod though, since from what I had played before, it doesn't alter the core mechanics of the game, aside from adding Gensokyo.

Vanilla and A New World, The Dawn of Empires, which sadly has not been updated post-TOG. I also wish Phoenix Fire would actually make some progress at some point.

I use TPaTT and LI whenever they're actually updated for the current version, and CK2+, Elder Kings, and AGOT otherwise.

Both CK2+ and Project Balance are up top in terms of tweaking and balancing the vanilla game. AGOT, Elder Kings and Britannia are great TC's. Cultures and Portraits Revamp is a must but, as mentioned previously, you really need to have all of the portrait DLC's for it to shine.

I either use Project Balance + VIET or, if I want a total conversion, Elder Kings or AGOT.

I haven't played my save in a while but I'm very worried.  As I mentioned, my king, Emperor Ragnarr I of Britannia, is in his 70s.  He has two sons, Inge and Guthred or something.  Inge is a dwarf, Guthred is overall pretty decent and a Varangian guard veteran (I may or may not have let him go in the hopes that he'd die and I'd only have one heir).  Both are okay but none of them are perfect like Ragnarr.  Worse, Inge has like five sons.  Even if he turns out okay I'm very worried about what will happen if he dies.  I've considered having him assassinated, would his sons be able to cause me problems?

If it matters, he's somehow ended up in Rogaland across the sea, due to marrying a countess.  His sons are still of my dynasty though, it wasn't matrilineal.

This is all just really cementing the race against time I'm in.  I have to get Paderborn from Francia and the last one in the middle of Denmark in order to reform the faith and get rid of Gavelking and succession woes before my empire blows apart.  Norse faith is in its twilight as it is, rulers are starting to convert and if I fail to reform we're probably going to start losing big kings to Christianity.  That shit's unacceptable, yo.

If you kill your son Inge (or he dies) before you die, it will shift. Guthred will receive what your elder son have received, and your grandson (the elder son of your elder son, and only him) will receive what your younger son should have received. Which means you can abuse gavelkind by having no alive son, your elder grandson will inherit everything.

I'd say deal with it, or kill Guthred, or kill both of them. You can't always have decent rulers, and it can be fun to have crappy ones.

Also, once your reform, other Norse kingdoms stay with the "Old Norse" religion, you gotta convert them.

Also, holy shit, the Ummayyad just invaded the whole of France, except for Brittany which is mine.

That sounds fishy.  If you have no immediate descendants alive, it ought to divide amongst all your grandkids... I wonder if that *ever* came up in reality.

Also I just want to say, as I did in the Steam Sales thread, that I enjoy reading these stories despite never having played the game.  They're like celebrity gossip with extra kinslaying and higher stakes.

Advice request time! I'm playing Ireland (duh. I'm a newb) which is currently united under me, and I rule over the entirety of Ireland, De Jure Brittany and three holdings in Spain. I want to expand somewhere but no plan exactly where. WHAT DO?
