Being a Christian sucks.  If I were a Norse I'd already have taken over Ireland but since I'm Christian "I want your land, buddy" isn't a valid justification.

I also hate how you can't have levies up when you declare war.  I want to march an army up to a dude's castle holding a sign that says "by the way i'm declaring war"

Are there more ways to secure land than fabricating claim and family shenanigans?  I'm getting old waiting for my chancellor to fabricate a claim. I suppose I could get the pope to excommunicate him...

"I want your land, buddy" isn't a valid CB ever, sadly. Even Pagans can apparently only pull this card once every 10 years or so. It would be hilarious if I could pre-set up my levies, but noooo... darn rules.

That's just for subjugation CB (which is really a "force vassalisation through war" CB). Pagans, or at least Norse (haven't tried others) can do Conquest CB's whenever though to grab a county.

Ok... so right now, my heir is going to inherit both Norway and Denmark.  The problem is, my wife inherited Denmark before our son did, and she is currently the subject of a massive rebellion to press someone's claim on Denmark.

The thing is... I can't join the war.  Never mind that it has everything to do with me, and it involves my WIFE, the game doesn't even show the option for me to to offer to join her wars.  I didn't receive a call to arms.  I'm so incredibly mad right now.  Why is this happening and what can I do besides savescum assassinating her?

I've had similar problems in the past. I still remembering my cousin losing the Kingdom of Georgia I'd fought so long to get for him. I could just watch, helpless. And here I thought Pdox fixed/tweaked that.

try to load as the other guy and see if you can call yourself to arms. I did this a few times before the join war option was added.

I must say, after all the patches and nicely polished mods, CK2 is properly difficult for my tastes. I literally cannot seem to do well anymore if I start as a Nubian/Abyssinian. I enjoy that.

Serbia is particularly tough, now. I use CK2+ almost exclusively since it drastically reduces some gamey-ness and gives the AI a fair shake.

Yes, and? There are cases of young people TODAY dying of natural causes. I was reading the other day about a healthy 26 year old who dropped dead of a heart attack. It does happen.

Looks like we might get some small scale dlc in August

There isn't really much more to say about the development of The Old Gods. From my perspective, it was a smooth and fairly uneventful (in a good way) process. The future will certainly bring more improvements to the game; some of which you can probably see coming, others, I think, will be more surprising. We also have something special planned for August; two smaller DLCs (and no, they are not portrait or unit packs...)

So we'll probably be seeing something Legacy of Rome/Sunset Invasion sized. Should be interesting to see what they come up with.

I'm leaning towards a Celtic DLC the same scope as Legacy of Rome. The area is currently the most boring in the game. It would be nice to see Ireland expanded more so it's just not tutorial island. It makes sense to release it at roughly the same time they want to release the Celtic face pack.

Certainly hoping it's not more ahistorical bollocks.
