EDIT: What the butts? I just started a new game as the duke of Lancaster and started with -247 prestige?

What start year?  If he recently lost a war, that could have hammered his prestige.

Did you marry a commonner? Prestige effects of marrying people of unequal ranks have been increased by a factor of ten.

I don't think it's so extraordinary that a historical character might have some kind of history before the start date.

There is no duke of Lancaster - ever. The title is always held by the king of England after William boots the Saxons out.
The closest is the Saxon Earl of Mercia with the lesser title of Lancaster at the 1066 start. There's no reason why he should have -247 prestige however. I started up a game and he seemed to have the standard 30 prestige.

There's a chance that a mod you're playing has given him minus prestige. I'm not sure why they would do that however as his rule was rather uneventful.

Here's something that i am struggling with.

In job_titles, under spymaster requirements, you have :

OR = {
         is_female = no
                                  liege = { mother = { character = FROM } }
         liege = { spouse = { character = FROM } }
      }

How would one change that to ANY member of dynasty?
I've tried
         liege = { any_dynasty_member = { character = FROM } }
But it doesn't appear to do anything, and without { character = FROM } it just allows all females to take the position.

Any ideas?

What are you trying to do?

Because if you're trying to make women available for any position, CK+ already has that covered (Just don't give your wife a county so she doesn't go charging off into war). If you're trying to just do stuff with the spymaster, you'll have better luck over at the official forums.

I'm now the Byzantine Emperor, I banished the previous emperor and now everyone hates me. How long does the tyranny malus last? Right now, I'm just imprisoning everyone and turning everything into prince-bishopic and giving some land to my kin. Also, I got 2 genius daughters and 2 non, genius sons, how do I get my daughters to inherit when my laws favor my eldest son?

Change laws to elective or kill the other kiddies. I guess since you're Greek you could castrate or blind them, not sure if you can do that on close kin. Pretty sure every succession law (apart from elective) always favours male heirs even if you have pure cognatic.
I personally wouldn't bother about trying to get your daughters on the throne even if they do have genius. Unless they have the attractive trait you're going to take a big relationship hit with every landed male in the realm, in your situation this sounds like the exact opposite of what you want. Just get one of your sons on the throne and start a very vigorous eugenics program.

Never banish, it's not worth it.  But as the Byzzy emperor you can revoke all his duchy titles.  At the very least revoke the titles first, then banish to reduce the tyranny.  It's per title.  I believe it lasts 20 years (or is it 10?)

Imprison everyone (except your two marshals, who you use to help imprison people, switching back and forth)
Step #2
Banish everyone
Step #3
use banishment money to hire a shit ton of eunuchs at 1 gold a piece due to your terrible income
Step #4
Redistribute lands to eunuchs in an orderly and planned out fashion.

Note that you need piety for imprisoning and banishing, though.
