So I picked this back up, cause of the patches and stuff, and I've hit a snag. Started off like I normally do as Earl of Dublin, made Ireland, took over Wales and England, took a few of Scotland's counties and made Britannia, then took over Scotland. I then took over a few counties in Brittany and took over a Dutchy over in North Africa. This is where the problem comes in. I've been fairly easily juggling around how much my vassals like me, and keeping them under powered, but my Emperor decided right after I bribed ALL my vassals into loving me (50+ opinion for like 70 vassals... it cost me about 2k gold) and left my treasury floating at around 200 gold, he was going to die at the age of 27 leaving me with a 0 year old heir. All my vassals hated me, and started up factions, I barely kept them from attacking me, and I had to transfer some of my vassal titles (transfer titles... or lose half the empire. I chose the titles). He died at age 13 before he could take over (shame, cause his stats were nice) and left his 2 year old brother in charge. Same issue, everyone hated me even more though, and it seemed a faction for independence was imminently going to spring any minute. Then he died at age 5. Now my new ruler is his sister, who is 16, and everyone hates her. I KNOW that if I can somehow manage to get through this, I can beef up my son to have claims on France, Denmark, and Leon (who de jure owns all 3 of the Spanish kingdoms now) through getting husbands with those claims, getting a son, giving the husband a useless title and killing him, rinse and repeat. The issue I have is actually GETTING THROUGH this. It seems anything I do is going to cause a good 1/4 of my empire to break away, and chances are the other parts will fracture as well for other issues. Help?
