When I need money I just invite every wealthy but landless and family-less person I can to my court and wait for them to die.
Same, it's why most of my court is either 60 year old men or 16-25 year old back up wives/concubines women

I raid.

Then realise I have a prisoner with 11k gold I can banish in my prison.

Also, warmongering is OP. My vassals took Spain while I was GHW'ing my way through Arabia, and then one of the big three empires declared war on me for what was essentially three baronies, and I beat them. So I declared war on them for Persia, and increased my personal retinue to 100k troops.

The game also stole two bloodlines from me.

I raid too when I'm playing a pagan. Last time I managed to glitch it so I could constantly raid Tiberias with no down time, bordered on making the game unplayable due to the siege notification popping up ever second. Last I checked I think I had the ruler of Tiberias in several million worth of gold in debt.

I like raiding as a Christian Tribal ruler. Usually Pictish because it's an easy enough start in Charlemagne.

There's something fun about being a benedictine monk and ransacking Rome for money and the Pope not really caring. Takes a while to get the boats to make it worthwhile, but it's so fun to tank your own religious MA to start the Heresy train so you can Holy War the Feudals and purge their lands back down into tribal ones.

Hard part is recovering the MA afterwards. Current game we're below 30% and my Holy Roman Celtic Empire is riven by heresy.

Nearly have the Frankish culture wiped out though, so I think it's all been worth it. Suck it Karlings, all your hard work is just dust and ashes beneath my boots.

@Wonder dev diary.

I'm liking the fact it'll be free. Definitely something that should be free of all things if it's just a minor update focusing on wonders as shown in that paragraph of talk :P

Actually, the wonder DLC will still cost money. You just get to read the devlog for free.

But doing cool stuff related to them is locked behind DLC?

Sounds like more of a compatibility decision.

At the moment there's no DLC announced for CKII (or even hinted at). The Dev diary stated that wonders will be included in a free update.

Downloading the free update will require a service premium, however.

I'm getting the picture that this one is just free, no catch. The cost has already been paid in social capital by whichever dev really wanted this feature in the game.

And then you have to buy the "wonders of the east" and so on cosmetic DLC, because otherwise you only get the Pyramids and the Stonehenge models. ;)

Methinks you're trying to make a joke that isn't hitting well, but that's just my opinion.

Regardless, I still think at the very least it'll make those mods that add world wonders and other significant buildings obsolete.
