Curious how the controls are.  I'm hearing mixed things.  Sounds like it suffers from consolitis.  I might just wait for it to come out on the PS3.

The controls are fine.  The stuff you're holding pours a little too fast so a lot of the time it takes two or three handfuls to properly create a land bridge (Land Bridges Made From Dust would be a better title for the game, it's like half of what I've done so far), and there aren't any real graphics settings.  Those are the big problems.  Other than that it's okay.

When I try to start the game "Can't create sound device" shows up, and then nothing happens. Any ideas?

Clicking left+right mouse to drop everything? Yeah, that rarely works. Spam it or not, THE WILL OF THE GODS DEMANDS YOU DO MORE TO APPEASE THEM.

Hold and then? Ugh. Just make it another key or something. It's not as if we're short any even on a controller.

The trigger system really helped in this game, which is sad for pc.

You should all be ashamed of yourselves.  The obvious solution is to chain the baby up at the entrance as a kobold detector.

It's not like you have to hold it for an hour, just press both keys but right first.

So they delayed the PC version, and for what purpose?
You guessed it.
To give them enough time to MAKE IT.
It's a direct console port, and that's pretty much that.
30 FPS V-sync?  Not in my PC, you don't.
That control scheme?  Eh, I'm not bothered by click/hold, but the console-style cursor control (the cursor moves in relationship to the center of the screen, instead of the mouse movement) just kills it for me.

Watched a lets play of it, not worth buying. I could tell right away that they wouldn't bother making the earth easy to put down like it was on the xbox controller. Puzzles are rather straight forward and the sandbox isn't that fun. Make a very large wall, or a very large hill.

Yeah, its a shitty port. Good game, some fun things to do, some pretty hard puzzles.

But the DRM is terrible.
They say it is a "One time online activation", yet you cannot play unless you have the massive ubisoft launcher running and connecting to the internet. The launcher also keeps trying to save my saves online, spends around 5 minutes on it, then fails, with no option to stop it until it does.

Somehow they managed to make using a mouse less precise than using a controller, and the drop all kinda doesn't work half the time.

Fun game, horrible drm/console port.

Edit: And as soon as I say this and go to launch it again, it gets stuck on the main menu, without any background. Apparently this is a common problem that happens randomly.

Also I found out how to stop it from spending forever synching my saves, there is a setting in the ubisoft launcher.

From Dust: Proving that developers with the right amount of motivation can even make being God boring.

Four words: Massive waste of potential.

You'd think with all the gamers out there excited for another Black and White or Populous that ONE studio would get it right...
