Hell, even if the game turns out like crap, I would buy it just to mess with the killer fluid dynamics. I've been looking for a game with good fluid dynamics.

I have to admit if the game turned out to be horrible... I would possibly consider buying something that would basically be a sandbox of that.

I think that video is directed as much toward investors and potential licensees as it is to people who want to play the game.  That's why they got a professional narrator instead of a programmer to stumble over his words and talk about how cool everything is like Blizzard does with their gameplay videos.

Nice, but yeah, it looks more like a big toy. I hope it's much more than the trailer shows. I'd like to see some gameplay. It almost looks like humans are going to be like ants... doing nothing but scattering around when you try to dump them in magma.

I am personally excited after seeing the tech-demo, as I've had dreams, and plans, for a God-Game based on real-world stuff that happens to be scaled up.  I believe the end game-play will be more realistic like in Populous, where you can do all sorts of stuff, but it only ends up being small-scale, require lots and lots and lots of energy to do, yada yada yada.

Even still, the God-Game industry needs a kick start, sense after Black and White 2 it just sort of disapeared.  I've personally written up ideas for a game system simular to what we have all saw there, if a little mixed-and-matched from my favorite genres (RPG, Build 'Um Strategy, City-Management, ect...).

Anyway, we can all agree to disagree. We all know this was jsut a dev tech video, and there was no real gameplay in the video at all, and that you don't play as any sort of omnipresent being.  Sort of a let down, but who really cares?  8)

It sort of looks like 3 hours of fun for me. Unless you're the type who is into building huge islands. That's not a bad thing in itself, but not that good if I pay for it. Nothing wrong if you guys love it, though.

I'm personally more interested in the artificial life aspect of God Games, like how people act facing challenges. I'd like a game where people are building a society and you could form a bunch of dragons and make them eat the people or something.

Here's something I think everyone could get into.  It explains more about the game and the system itself.

Well, as long as theres a sandbox mode, I'll be happy. That is really cool, that new video.

Xbox live arcade and downloadable, which sounds like it's going to be lightweight and inexpensive.  I still think it's gonna be cool bro.

What features would a XBLA game have to leave out?

Not so much that it is left out but it means the scope of the game is going to be very focused. Meaning this is going to be a "Puzzle" game so to speak.

It probably will be rather small and focused, but for the X-Box Live Arcade, some of those games are just pure awesome. xD Like A Kingdom For Kieflings, which I enjoyed.  But also, if you can watch the control of all of it, it makes me think that it may be compatible with the new stuff from Project Natal (forgot the published name, sorry!).

This leads me to believe the game is probably being made to facilitate licensing the engine.

It'll probably still be cool, but we'll have to wait for other companies to make the really good stuff with it.
