And did you see how many of the Subversion diaries were totally uninformative trash, before they decided to start giving us useful information?
Considering they weren't even announcing what the game was at that time, and most of those diaries were describing their design process in great technical detail....
No. I didn't. They were pretty clear on where the line of demarcation was between development diary and actual game info. And if you bothered to read more than one Subversion Dev Journal, you either were doing it because you wanted to know what he was doing, or you have a compulsion to read shit that's above your head.
So Subversion dev logs, up until 18, was not game info, and anyone looking at them thinking they were missed the point in his very first dev log.
Compared to From Dust, which is now billing itself as an official game, calling that a dev journal is like calling a teaser cinematic trailer game play. For someone that wants tangible information on the actual game, this dev journal didn't give them squat either, NOR did it give any propeller hat stuff about its technical details. Introversion didn't run out to Gamespy et. al and were like "here's our dev log!"
That makes it a tech demo with a sexy female narrator. That's the difference.
