Pierre gingerly lays his shock prod on his shoulder and walks back to the dog-thing, successfully skirting the black fluid is still oozing from its rather gaping wounds. He looks for a tag but does not find one - it looks like the spiked collar used to be a regular collar until it came in contact with the black stuff.

I'll try it on my spare clip.

Cecilia begins to unload her spare clip, but fumbles! She loses six bullets, one of which rolls under the surgical table out of reach. The rest roll around on the floor in plain sight.

Cassandra continues to practice her BLINDVISION^tm and examines her new stuff.

Cassandra focuses her mind and her ears, but fails to improve significantly. She sighs and instead tries to figure out what she is now wearing - she knows what they are, but not how they feel. The Kevlar Vest and Lab Coat have hardened and combined, forming Carapace Armor. It looks like it'll be tough to move around in. Her surgical saw has twisted, and it feels almost alive now, into a Beast Knife. Its presence frightens her a little.

Elizabeth rather likes the new look of her former Lab Coat, and anyway it's much less cumbersome than that silly old thing. She heads out the door, having dressed Cassandra's wound, and turns left. That door is shut. She attempts to open it, but fails. It looks like the door is powered and has malfunctioned somehow.

Follow Haspen and look for more clues of what exactly this place is.

Result: Natural Six (oh yeah!)

Jane limps along after Elizabeth, curious about this strange facility. She sees Elizabeth fail to open the door.

Elizabeth looks at her and bats her eyelashes. "Can you open this thing for me?"

Jane shakes her head and strikes the doorframe with the butt of her newly transformed spear.

The door falls out of its frame backwards. "Good job!" says Elizabeth, clapping her hands.

Cecilia
"I see what you're trying there. Good idea, but is making more monstrosities every time you shoot something really a good idea?"

Cecilia shrugs. "It seems so."

"Well," muses the voice. "It would be quite effective on humans, turning them into grotesque mockeries of men. But it will not affect you, nor your guns. Nothing from the highest minds of man will be affected by the black blood."

"Why?" asks Cecilia.

"It is... how do you say this? Magical. It corrupts that which is natural and earthly. Your guns are products of this grand technological age, and the spells of an older time will have no effect."

"Ah."

"What?" asks the voice.

"To be honest, I like that just fine," Cecilia says to herself with a grin.

Pierre
Pierre stands over the corpse of the Claw Beast, rubbing the spiked collar absentmindedly. In his life as a spear fisherman, he has, honestly, dealt with much bigger, much uglier beasts. Marlin, for example. They would skewer a man faster than he could blink if provoked. This dog-thing wasn't really that much worse than a Marlin.

Cassandra carefully makes her way to where Pierre is musing over the Claw Beast.

"Say, Pierre?" she says brightly.

"Yes, small girl?" he says. "And, how do you know my name?"

"I know a lot of things," Cassandra says. "Sometimes it's hard filtering them all out. They get stuck sometimes too. It's ugly in there."

He laughs. "Yes, well, what did you wish to tell me? Do you know about my abs?"

"Well, there's these voices, see." she says. "And they're telling me right now that we're not in any danger? I guess. We'd probably go into danger if we took that hallway to the outside, though."

"Thank you for telling me," he says cheerfully. "But I think we can handle ourselves, yes?"

"Maybe.

Elizabeth and Jane

The door falls open.

There are several large cylinders in the room. In each is a rather deformed creature. One has a man's upper body, but the rest has four misaligned legs and a stumpy tail. Another has an oversized head with tiny horns sprouting from its brow. Yet another is covered in coarse, black hair.

They are all quite dead. It looks like they got a fatal dose of whatever gas it was the masks were pumping into the cylinders.

There is a Bank of Monitors, another Wall Panel, and a Dead Lizard on the floor. What the hell is with the dead lizard.
