Someone should be a spiked chain fighter.

Also, we're gonna spend like ten pages getting ready and Criptfiend won't even come back.

Considering that I'd have to use a weapon that would be two size classes larger than me, (assuming you meant the large chain fighter build, which is crazy cheap) the most likely candidate would be Merrian, though it'd be awesome to see a sorceror who isn't just a squishy finger wiggler.

I hope Criptfeind comes back, 'cause I really want to try this ranger.

In the interests of playing with dead threads I decided to post a character, probably buy a chain shirt, +1 spiked chain, some javelins, and basic gear...

I will get it up to mythweavers if it looks like it will actually be used...

This thread isn't dead. Criptfeind is probably fighting aliens instead of coming to the forum.

...
*A few discrepancies I noticed - Merrian should have a BaB of 2 (ranger +1, fighter +1), Glacius should have more HP. (you start with your full HD at level one)
I'm technically only a level one (Dragonblood) sorcerer. In fact, without my two flaws, I'd have only 8 HP (hurray for Draconic Toughness), and no real offense (Draconic Breath is good for this one). This is unfortunately the only way to do this, because I have to take the 2nd and 3rd Draconic racial class levels in a row, and I'd rather take them now when I can survive the reduced HP and spells. I'll have to take the fourth sometime though, and that'll get me the Dragon type (I'll lose the humanoid type and dragonblood subtype too), which will make me immune to anything that only targets humanoids, and also make me immune to magical sleep and paralysis.

Anyway, I think this character is mostly done being developed, I have plenty of stuff. I have 3 Eternal wands that only I can use, and I should have enough damage output and defense.

Also, shouldn't Rorakar have more skill points than that? Rangers get 6+ Int mod. That should be 48 points (That's a lot :P), right? You get (6+Int mod)x4 at first, for 32, and 8 at 2nd and 3rd, for 48 total. (Where are Grippli in the books anyway? I can't seem to find them.)

I suspect that the first post suggests that variant rules are not preferred, and the SRD seems to indicate that Flaws qualify as variant rules.

They are not variant rules, they are in Unearthed Arcana :P

Well okay, they're sort of variant, but I think that I should be fine with the right ones. I would gladly take some other flaws if Criptfiend doesn't like the ones I have. If he disallows flaws completely though, I might be screwed with my HP. I really can't survive without it. I would gladly take some kind of flaws that penalize my Strength, Dexterity, or something like that though. Just not my Constitution, Intelligence, or Charisma. I need my Intelligence to be as high as it is though, if I want to get the prestige class I want, and my Charisma is just plain necessary to being a sorcerer at all. I just need to have the bonus feats in one way or another. We just need to wait until Criptfiend gets back, then I can ask him if my flaws are okay. I'll probably have to take some different ones or something though.

Also, don't you think that being hunted down by dragons is a big enough flaw as it is? :P

Merrian's BAB is accurate - Rog/Brd/Ftr = +0/+0/+1.  Danger of multi-classing, see?  Sadly, Fighter alone doesn't have enough skill points for my liking and we can't use the Generic Combatant rules.  ;D

Whoops, forgot to apply them all. Grippli were originally introduced in monster manual II of AD&D. Here is a list of where they come from in every version they're in. Some more info is here, for religion, and here, for stats.

For some reason I thought you were part ranger, not a bard. Nevermind.

I'm glad I found the list of materials that weapons can be made of and how much they cost. The only thing I can't bypass the DR of is Demons (Cold Iron is dang expensive) and things with DR/A or DR/-. As any player at this level should, I made sure that I could kill Trolls and Werewolves.

I'm planning to take the Dracolexi PrC later on, and at the second PrC level, I get a bonus feat of either Eschew Materials or Still Spell. In order to train as a Dracolexi, I need either Eschew Materials or Still Spell. So, could I retrain the feat I take before it to grab something else?

Let me explain the above better. At my 3rd level, I will take either EM or SS. At my 6th level, I will get my second Dracolexi level, which will give me a bonus feat of either EM or SS, whichever one I didn't take. Can I retrain the either the original one I got at 3rd level, or the bonus one I got at 6th?

I would just like to know what your policy on retraining in general is, particularly feats. I'd like to drop Draconic Toughness eventually, once I get some real hit points.

Everyone's favourite feat-starved mistake of a build is now slightly less feat starved and much more of a glass cannon...

Did you go Cleric first or Fighter? Also, Criptfiend said we're going with max HD at level one, and average at every level after that. That would mean you would have 8+5+4-3, which leaves you with 14... How did you manage to end up with almost the same amount of hit points as me, a first level sorcerer? That's just pathetic :P (I do have 18 Con though, so it's not that bad, but still.) Although, if you went Fighter first, you would get 10+4+4-3, which is 15, only an improvement of 1 though.

Oh, and your link is broken.
