Considering I have a climb speed, I could just hit a wall after a throw and keep going. The throwing feats are mostly in Races of Stone, along with a cool prestige class called the Hulking Hurler for those who min/max throwing weapons.

I doubt any of us are strong enough to throw anybody anyway. Well, the barbarian or I could throw Rorakar, but that's about it I think. Throwing a ranger into melee combat is pretty useless though :P
Considering that Grippli weigh 25-35 pounds, it wouldn't be all that difficult. Besides, I've got me a pretty cool scimitar. (Get it? It's made of ice!?)

Hey, my internet is broken. I can only get on like one time a week. Speaking of which... Let me go over the thread and answer questions.

Here's another flaw idea.

PyrophobiaGrippli dislike fire, due to living in a jungle.

By average, do you mean we have to take the average roll for hit points?  So I, as a barbarian, would gain 6+CON hp each level, or do you mean roll like average?

You would gain 6+con on level two then 7+con on level three and 6+con on level four.

I'm kinda disappointed, a non generic game and its at a time/day i cant play, can you post what happens during game on the thread?

Yes.

Eberron is a great setting, and not just because of the lack of alignment-restricted dragons.

Yes the lack of Alignment restrictions is one of the reasons I like it a lot.

Can I create a character using the Draconic racial class from Races of the Dragon? I'd like to create a half-dragon human sorcerer, and without this class, I'd have to drop in at level 4. I'll have some reduced usefulness as a sorcerer, and only have the HP of a first level sorcerer too, but I'd be more powerful in general, and get to fly :D

I think this will work, I don’t have my books here but I will look it up.

Of course, this all depends on getting permission from the DM. Also, according to the book, I'd have to be from the Seren barbarians or something. I'm not sure how flexible you are with the Eberron lore though.

As long as your back-story works it is fine with me. The dragons don’t stay on their continent all the time.

Edit: I can work with Thursday, but I think most people would prefer a weekend, including myself

The weekend is a really bad time for me, Maybe maybe I can get it to work but it is a big stretch.

What would you use for sessions? IRC? PbP? Maptool? Gametable?

Maptool. ‘thul hooked me on it.

And now that you've said that, all our villains will be ice-themed and we'll end up finding the Plane of Cold or something similar.  ;D

I do love me some cold. “Ice to meet you.”

I love your enthusiasm, but one thing I need to look up is if you do get increased XP, there are two types of things that are like you are describing, one does and one does not.

In other words, you can have a magic item up to 2700gp in value, assuming you take no other equipment.

There are some rules about max cost but I will not really be enforcing them.

Edit: Also, has anybody tried doing the Wall of Iron thing with their DM?

You mean selling it? You can do that but it is boring as crap. Why not use that magic to make a giant walking Iron Fortress?

UCT is, as far as I can tell, an hour ahead of GMT (GMT+1

Well…. I may have to look it up, I thought it was basically at GMT.

Also, we're gonna spend like ten pages getting ready and Criptfiend won't even come back.

 :(

In the interests of playing with dead threads I decided to post a character, probably buy a chain shirt, +1 spiked chain, some javelins, and basic gear...
This thread isn't dead. Criptfeind is probably fighting aliens instead of coming to the forum.

Yes. They stole my Internet. Damn gray skins.

I suspect that the first post suggests that variant rules are not preferred, and the SRD seems to indicate that Flaws qualify as variant rules.
They are not variant rules, they are in Unearthed Arcana :P

That makes them variant rules >_>

flaws?!? traits?!? drools...

This is a bad thing no? For one to drool?

Also, Criptfiend, how long are you planning to run this for? I can probably stay in this for as long as it runs. I mainly want to know so that I can plan out my character accordingly. How much are you sticking to the original Eberron story? Obviously the planes are getting switched around, but what about things like the Draconic Prophecy?

The Story is set to end at high levels. So it will run as long as I can keep it going. A long time hopefully. To add some prospective I am worrying about what will happen in a year from now when I go to college. Hopefully I will stay close to the lore.

EDIT: It turns out Grippli aren't a dragonmarked race.

I would not have guessed. I (spoiler) May give out some free dragonmarked feats later in the game. Maybe. If I do you will get them even if you do not qualify.

As for throwing people… I don’t know what to say. Feel free to try it.

As for all the flaws that are being put up. No. I am leery of even allowing flaws so I am not going to allow homebrewed/obscure flaws in.

What do you people think of the time?

The session times would mean I'd be 30-60 minutes late, so if they were an hour later I'd be on time (Or at the most extreme, 15 minutes late.)
Exactly the same for me, if I am able to join.

Shall we push it back?

Can I at least get some from Dragon Magazine? The UA flaws are good but everyone takes the same flaws all the time, especially murky eyed. It's really weird having an entire party of semi-blind adventurers.

I'm currently updating my character's equipment now that I have a less limited feat choice. I'm thinking I'll bring a dozen daggers made of all different material. Nobody gets their damage reduction when I stick knives into them!

Wow, I completely forgot about that.

Well, yes, but in this instance it is invoked by a loss of concentration due to the subject's great appreciation of the item in question.

Here is a list of the chars, I put little comments under them. I have not had the time or resources to give them a in depth look yet, that will come soon.

A rock hard veteran of the last war, “Sergeant” Merrian Skye.

(HP is too low.)

A great warrior from ???, Ulf Son-of-Bear.

(HP is too low.)
(Back Story?)

From the far shores of Seren, the Half Dragon Glacius.

(Don’t know yet, HP looks wrong but I have not looked it up.)

From the damp forests of Zilargo, Rorakar the Hunter.

(Whats the stats? Your link has a block but not the stats themselves.)

From ???, Arman Woyan the Wise

(God, I don’t have my book but I will get you list of Gods from this setting.)
(Back Story?)

No, no, the best weapon that is available at low levels is a reach weapon with "Stopping". Stopping causes an enemy to stop moving if you hit them with the weapon. Then you get Combat Reflexes. Nothing can get past you :D

One of my friends did this in a real life D&D campaign. The DM even tried surprising the group with stuff leaping at them, but Combat Reflexes lets you make AoOs when flat-footed. He one-shot both of the things that leaped at him. So much for that encounter.

What increased XP? As far as I know, I don't get any increased XP. I'm still technically at the same level as the rest of the party, and I don't get any XP bonuses. According to my LA, I'm at approximately the same level of power as the rest of the group, or at least I should be. When I say "More XP for the same progression", I mean that I need more XP to advance in character levels, not that I get bonus XP :P

Though, if you want to give me bonus XP, I won't complain ;)

My HP is too low?

If I do the average rolls like you said up there (I haven't updated the sheet to reflect that) I actually have less HP than I do now.  What'choo talkin' about Willis?

And I'll put together a backstory soon, I just don't know much about Eberron.

Sadly, my HP is correct, and very low. I have 8 from my first sorcerer level, that's 4 from full hit dice, and 4 from Con. I also have 6 from my Draconic Toughness feat, which gives me 2 per Draconic feat I have. I have 3, Draconic Breath, Draconic Heritage, and Draconic Toughness.

I think I thought you were level five.

I'm pretty sure it's a bad sign when you forget the starting level of your own campaign.

I updated my sheet with my different item choices. I replaced my old buckler (I don't need it now that I have Graceful Edge) with what I named my 'slayer's quiver', a quiver that contains 20 different types of arrows, with construction materials ranging from Cold Iron to Runebronze to Byeshk, all for the incredibly high price of 35gp. (A lot for only 50 arrows.) Some of them are really stupid materials like Stone or Bone, but you never know when you need to fight something that destroys all metal or is only hurt by the bones of a deer. Are there any feats that let you wield improvised weapons with proficiency? It'd be nice to be able to shank people with these at close range.

Spoiler: The Slayer's Quiver (click to show/hide)

I am going to say no. I am already rethinking my decision to let flaws in at all. They will stay in but only the UA ones.
I'll update my flaws, then.
From the damp forests of Zilargo, Rorakar the Hunter.

(Whats the stats? Your link has a block but not the stats themselves.)
The stats are here, on page 31. I took the variant from the direct source (stated on the left hand side of the linked pdf)  that replaces "+1 Racial bonus on attacks vs. Vermin." with "Gains two power points", which doesn't really help me except for my Deep Crystal arrows and Riedran Crysteel arrows, but if there's a problem with those (or with having power points at all, even without a way to directly use them) I'll switch back to the normal Grippli. I'm making a backstory now.

Arrows look okay, I will trust you on price.

Power points are okay. That is fine. I need more vermin now for the irony though.

Two things. Targath Arrows say +2 to fort, what does this mean?
What does the -1 Enhancement on Morghuth-Iron Arrows mean?

As for a feat for shanking I think not, there is after all a class based around useing improvised weapons.
