A EEEEEEEEAGLE!

What other big birds live in a jungle? Because it can fluff wise be any flying thing you want.

The 'silly' candidate here is of course the wandering albatross. A more reasonable choice would be the Haast's Eagle, which only went extinct 600 years ago, and had a 10 foot wing span, qualifying it for large size. The 'ridiculously awesome' candidate is Argentavis Magnificens, a long-ago-extinct bird with a wingspan of 26 feet, nudging it into the gargantuan category.

Wingspan is huge. A six foot wing span is on the high end of small. That said I vote for Albatross.

Or a giant flying squirrel.

Albatross it is. This is the Eagle stat sheet, should I just use that or do you have some changes you want to make?

(Is 5 HP on an animal companion normal? It seems awfully low for level 4.)

Er.... Well yes, it is because it is basically a companion for a level one char, not a level four.

I am not sure if this thing can carry you mind. It may be able to.

Also there is the hawk and the owl. As other choices.

*On the other hand the octopus has a +6 to grapple that is not explained anywhere.

Also why is a jungle frog getting a sea bird?

the Hawk and Owl are smaller than me. The Eagle has the carrying capacity to carry me comfortably, though I'm not sure if I can ride it. It's three feet long, and I'm two and a half tall.

Think of it this way. What's a jungle frog person doing in a mercenary company? He's probably lost. Just like a gigantic seabird!

Here's the explanation of carrying capacity. Eagles have a Strength of 10, which is normally light up to 33, 34-66 medium, and 67-100 heavy. However, eagles are small, multiplying their carrying capacity by 3/4. In other words, an eagle can carry our little frog friend into battle as a medium load. Medium load makes it fly at 55 ft instead of 80 ft, but it's still much faster than the rest of us.

I think that an eagle would do just fine in our group, we're not ragtag enough yet.

I know how it works. I am just having issues with the mental images.

We need old timey aviator goggles.

It is actually an alpine species, but if you prefer parrots to eagles you could try for a kea...

Considering that it's tiny sized, that probably wouldn't fly.

God damn it.  Really wish I'd showed up now that today's cancelled.  Especially since Skye had words to say on the subject of that stone - I just hope we haven't shilled it back to our bosses for a thousandth of what it's worth.  >_<
