Rovell stepped forward, taking a proud stance.  This was supposed to be a cache for artifacts of the celestial exalted, and Laia had claimed that it was much like a temple to the Incarnae in her homeland.  As such...

His caste mark blazed as he spoke in the language of the Old Realm, voice echoing in the dome.  <"We are the Chosen of both Luna and the Unconquered Sun, who have come to reclaim that which is rightfully ours!  Now, stand aside and let us pass!">

I'm not rolling here, because I'm not entirely sure if presence works on automations.  If I'm wrong, change the one mote for 4 spent on the 2nd Presence Excellency, then roll for me.

The remaining spiders are too slow to react, and still haven't yet.

"Uh..."  Rovell hesitated.  He hadn't the slightest idea what the password was.  He guessed that he would have to improvise...

The automatons don't change their stance, but speak again.

Lera looked over at Rovell like he'd gone mad, "What in Luna's name are you saying? You can't actually understand them can you?"

"They're speaking in the language of the First Age," he said, tapping his chin as he stared at the machines.  "I managed to pick it up a while back when I was reading through some old history texts.  Not in very common use any more, but it's useful for study."

He switched back to Old Realm.  <"Give me a moment to speak with our engineer.">

Then, turning swiftly, he walked over to Wisdom, keeping his voice down.  "You probably know these things better than I do, and I suspect that you know Old Realm.  Any ideas?"

Akar smiled, his movement carrying him past the spiders. He skidded to a stop, and swung about, the dead spiders finally falling to the ground, the Fire Aspects smile just as vicious as the flames the coursed over his body, and lapped up the edges of his swords. The straw Hat he wore continued,, catching on the string, and coming to rest on his back

"Pathetic."

Akar struck again, sweeping past the remaining spiders, a red blur. In his hands, the Golden Blades coursing with the Red Flame of Hesiesh, moving effortlessly, faster still then the form of the man. 6 Strikes, 6 streaks of flame. Then once more. The Dragonblooded turned, to look at his word.

Wisdom nodded. "It's the language of most gods and elementals. Our Ifrit was courteous enough to speak in the local tongue, but the spirits are born knowing Old Realm."

Wisdom perused his memory, trying to dredge up ancient bits of knowledge on the automatons of the first age, seeing if this model matched any of the commonly used variants, and if so, what sort of form it's codes would take, and indeed, if there were any factory standard codes involved with these.

The remaining spiders are quickly dispatched. No minor demon can challenge the Dragonblooded without using deceit, and in this case, not even when they do.

This model was rather rare, but is a variant of the Ever Vigilant Guardian. You don't remember if any common access codes went along with the information, but they only did get a small side section in the EVG section. Maybe trying some of those codes will work.

Maintenance:
M-001-ED34C: Emergency Deactivate.
M-001-R35T: Reset the machine.
M-001-TEST: Test the machine. It will cycle options, asking for more codes for the various functions.

Akar nodded, sheathing his blades. One of the pluses of being a Fire Aspect was not having to worry about cleaning one's blades. Whatever got on them burned up, usually along with whatever it came from. The Immaculate nodded afterwards. There was something here. It had set those... creatures to watch.

"So what is so secret then?"

Akar opened the door that lead further in, still burning brightly. The time for caution was over. It was time to discover what was going on.

Akar.

Akar opens the door to the wider warehouse, only to discover it isn't a warehouse at all. A large hole fills most of the floorspace, the red jade torso and arms of a headless warstrider sticking out of the bottom of it. Near fifty demonic apes work around it, turning as the burning Dragonblood enters. Several other figures notice him as well. Taller, feminine figures, wearing leather and wielding black whips.

Someone called out, in a harsh, cold voice: "Who in Malfeas are you?!"
The speaker isn't immediately apparent, however.

Akar looked up, trying to find the source of the voice. He drew his Swords, smiling, and settled for looking in the direction of the Warstrider. So that was what this was about. Very dangerous indeed.

"I am Cathak Akar. I am a follower of the Immaculate Way, and a Chosen of Hesiesh. And I am the one who slaughtered the pets you had outside. If you would like, you can face the same fate. Or you can tell me what you are doing with a Piece of property that clearly belongs to the Realm."

[Akigagak]

Akar.

"Looks to me more like it belongs to the ground, really." Says a rather skinny man with rather sharp features as he leaves a small hut at the lip of the crater. "Then again, the Dragonblooded are scarcely above the dirt of Creation, so maybe you feel it's yours in that respect?"

He wears dark silks, and like the mayor, something in his eyes is wrong. Very wrong.

Akar looked at the fellow and smiled. Behind that smile, the Flame of Rage spun, but none of it showed here.

"Ignorant and ill informed, unfortunately. My bretheren, the Chosen of Pasiap draw strength from the Earth, power far beyond your little toys..."

Akar gestured at Demons.

"But I am a Chosen of the Flame. If needed, I shall scour this place to the ground, with all the Purity the flame brings. So are you some pathetic minion, or are you the Anathema behind this?"

Controlling this many demons was beyond the reach of any Mortal Sorcerer, and the man had decried the Chosen of the Dragons. That only left the Anathema.
