DnDOnlineGames
« on: August 16, 2010, 03:36:07 pm »

Not sure if people have hear of this place or not but i chanced  across a PbP PnP DnD (wow a lot of acronyms there lol) site here.

It's pretty active and devoted to RPG's; the reason i decided to share this is that they currently have a Newb friendly game. that has some good DMs willing to help you learn the ropes, accepting players.

site has a SRD (a reference to just about everything needed to play DnD) and supports 3ed, 3.5e, and 4e games, in addition to other dice based games (it even has a Dice roll tag :D it's pretty neat)

Hope to see someone join up!

I should also add that most games have strong encouragements to play everyday. One even had rocks falling from the sky if someone is out for more then 3 days (ei didn't post an action for 3 days)

Looks like just what I'd want to check out. Too bad I don't have any DnD books, those things are expensive  :-\.

Oh, I remember this place! I should really try getting into a game, but the walls of (well-written, mind you) text that most players post is kind of intimidating. Still, the tutorial newby game was pretty fun.

"Compatibility mode", dude. If he tries running it under "capatability mode" some terrible thing involving elder gods will probably happen.

I was like, ha, this looks like a pretty dumb and boring game. I was so wrong. Gentlemen, I have discovered true fun.

that is what the SRD is for, it has almost everything the books do and the rest you can ask about.

*casts Raise Thread*
Itssssss aliveeeee!!!

I registered on site and signed up for newbie game Diakron mentioned. This SRD thing is really helpful, if you are familiar with Neverwinter Nights or Temple Of Elemental Evil you shouldn't have any problem to learn rules. Whole site got some nice nifty features like character sheets you save in your profile (also it automaticaly links abilities/spells/feats/etc. to SRD so you can always easily check what it is). Anyway this newbie game uses premade characters so its really easy to get into it. We currently lack Dwarven Cleric and Gnome Bard to start game. Any people interested in trying out d&d?

I was just thinking about doing the cleric, how is the communication done?
EDIT: Ok, what is the easiest way to do one of those template classes? Cause copy/pasting everything is taking forever, and Im not sure I want to continue after trying to up date my char and the website said I wasnt logged in, losing a TON of work. *rage*

Edit again: I think I finished up the Cleric, and posted. Lets see how it goes.

That's a lot of edits  ;D. AFAIK there is no other way than to copy/paste. Glad you're aboard.  Need just one more.

Sounds interesting, and I would definitely take up the offer if I had more time on my hands, it sounds rather intensive time-wise.
