I have 7075544 created wealth, 167 dwarves, and I've been fighting off goblin thieves/ambushes since embark. Why do i not have sieges?

Do you ever get goblin caravans? If so, you're at peace with the goblins. You should kill the caravans to change that.

If not, you could just be far, far away from the nearest goblin fort. The only solution to that is to pick a fight with another race. Or to open up HFS. That'll solve your boredom, I'll bet.

No goblin caravans have ever come, and I've started to be exceedingly insensitive to the elvish distaste for magma baths. That said, is a lack of proximity to a goblin civ an assurance that i will never get sieges, or only that those siege parties will take a long time to get to my fort?

You should eventually get sieges.

i have noticed a increased rate of sieges when i put my fort up to area close to goblin civilization, i mean having them listed in Neighbor list at embark screen (while checking for layers you can click tab to switch modes like elevation/neighbors etc). i dont have a lot of wealth but allready got 2nd siege with all the goblins mounted with various animals and accompanied by Ogre civilians(?).
