Transferring power between pumps
« on: August 16, 2010, 06:02:51 am »

If I want to provide power to three pumps in a line, do I need to link them up individually to the power source or would linking the pumps to each other with a gear assembly work?

P=Pump
G=Gears

e.g
Power source/G/P/G/P/G/P

pumps can be linked to eachother so PPPPG will work.

Neither.

If the pumps are adjacent to each other, they will transfer power between each other and you just need to link one pump to power.
If they are spaced out along a line, connect them to each other with axles rather than gears because axles use less power.

Using a gear (or horizontal axle) between them will also work. Just make sure that your power source is generating enough power for the whole system.
